Same same, you would need to KeenSert the early starter, I don't think helicoils would do it as the stock holes are clearance already.

Did you ever check the cam timing and that the Balancer hasn't slipped giving an incorrect TDC?

A) They're 20+ years old, it's what you can't see that's the problem... B) Your machinist is correct if you have a new set of bolts there's no reason not to use them, they're a lot better quality than people realise.

My take on this is you build a fuel system that will support the required HP then double it, if a pump fails it won't melt the engine and the 2nd pump assures nothing is ever running on the ragged edge, I bring the 2nd pump in only during boost using a PWM controller so you don't get a pressure...

Late model Starter is tapped so no nuts needed ;)

Each time you pull the Dipstick there's only Oil and no coolant on it ;)

Make sure the screen inside the reservoir isn't blocked with Crud.
