Heads Up for those wanting a MK2 Turbo

i disagree. ive had 4 mk3's and my mk2's are more comfortable and feel more responsive then the mk3's. had 2 n/a's and 2 turbo's and driven many more. ive driven mk4's as well. fast, yes, comfortable, not to me. feels too clustered in the drivers seat in the mk4.

Heads Up for those wanting a MK2 Turbo

ok so go cheap and say bone stock clean mk2 for $4k. then a wrecked 7mgte donor car for $1k with good running 7mgte. factor in mhg, arp head studs, custom i/c piping and dp, exhaust etc.. which now can be bought from rabidchimp prefabbed, still not cheap. do the wiring yourself, which will take...

lots of helpfull tips and tricks

i never put gasket sealer on any part of the valve cover gasket and have had NO leaks. just get the allen head bolts and new gaskets. by using the allen head bolts you can tighten the covers down a bit more then with the philips head screws so gasket sealer isnt needed. it is a rubber gasket...

Interior Dying / Painting Questions and pictures request.

i tried WASHING it off once it tried with hot watter and dish soap. i scrubbed the shit out of it and it didnt even darken the white rag i used 1 bit and none came off. i seriously doubt it would rub off. you just have to have the seat extreamly clean so the dye can soak into the vinyl.

Interior Dying / Painting Questions and pictures request.

i used the duplicolor vynil dye on my gauge hood i made for my mk2. its on page 14 of my cardomain for my 84. worked great. just have to clean it VERY well or the dye wont dye. it is an actual dye, not paint. it sprays on and soaks in and dries very quickly. im gonna use it on my headliner and...

What chemical to use to remove smoke stains (metal parts)

why not rent a uhaul to haul all the parts from your old car home? then no worries of messing up the interior of the new car. also, if it were me id rather have the hardtop then the targa. never liked targa tops. also wish my mk2 was hardtop instead of a sunroof car. never use the damn thing...

    t56 swap progress

the viper shifter will likely fit the mk3 better but id measure before sticking to that. i dont recall the exact location of the viper shifter but it would fit the mk2 great. the input shaft of the viper t56 is diff then the gm t56. the tripple clutch should work asi believe they make the discs...

m6 is the thread size AND pitch. it is a machine screw. tell the bolt supply you need 12 ss ms allen head cap screws 25mm long and 12 small washers. you can see them in this pic. i installed them on the replacement 7mgte i put in my 84 mk2

One of these things is not like the others.

old stock coils arnt new coils. they prolly will have issues as well. id at minimum swap the coil from the 3/4 to the 1/6 and see if the problem moves. if it does replace that coil. id grab wires too just to be safe. is it really that hard to swap 2 coils around? im just wondering as you havent...

    Spark plugs and oil.

be sure to buy some #6 bolts to replace the crappy philips head screws when you change the valve cover gasket so they can be tightend down good. the stock screws tend to strip very easy and you cant get them tight.
