yeah, itll suck, but tradeoffs. lol. guy put a ls1 in his 83 and its far enough fwd he wont have that prob. tons of room to reach the bh from the top. lol
i know everything you just said, but the ds will likely be spot on, remember, im puting this into a 1984 mk2, NOT a mk3. i already plant to cut all mounts off the trans etc... and the bh should fit fine. ive already measuredand itll be tight in there but looks to be fine. just no room to get the...
i agree, it would be nicer, but way more exspensive. the main reason i went this way instead of cuting and welding a stock bh on is that alot of people want an adaptor to use a 700r4 transmission, well, this adaptor will allow them to do that. and use any other gm trans as well pretty much...
pretty damn good news. got the 2nd test piece today. it appears to be perfect. bolted right to the block, started bolted up. i hooked jumper cables to the starter and made sure it turned the engine over. jumped the damn thing all over the place from the tq but the gear in the starter is lined up...

pics of it and how do we adjust? ive never been inside a a340e but am seriouly thinking of swapping a 1uz into my 86 mk2 and if i do ill likely keep it auto and throw a 3.727 rear in and turbo it. i want the trans to hold. lol.
well, the 7.25in from quartermaster and tilton require a step type flywheel. the one i have requires the step. their flywheel is for chevy v8's and uses this clutch. he will just pull a "blank" that hasnt had the center drilled yet and drill it for the 7m. and ill use a auto flexplate for the...
just got off the phone with quartermaster. said they can make the 7.25in steel flywheel for ~$270.00. im going to ship them a stock flywheel to get he bolt pattern from and he said they will drill it from a chevy blank. he said he will keep the pattern on file so whoever wants to order one can...
thanks man. the new test peice was actualy shipped today. im hopin to have it next week. hopefully its perfect, if so i can post the group buy. if it isnt, ill have to make the necc adjustments and order another one.
um, all over the place. this thread is for a 7.25in clutch. tilton, quartermaster, sonic and tons of others make the twin and tripple 7.25in clutches. iirc with the r154 you cant use a tripple. too thick. im using a t56 so hopefully i got enough room for the internal slave cylinder. the flywheel...
