LOL FUCK that!
I was grinding down the welds to make them flush with that threaded insert, and I got hot metal shavings all over my stomach and face- this was only a few minutes after he finished welding it so it was hot from that, AND from grinding! Not fun!
Fail. LOL. Really, they're a great looking car. I just can't get past the crap build quality.
For example: when doing my rear trailing arm bushings today- the lower circle:
That the forward most mounting hole in the unibody (there are only three) had torn almost completely out. (top circle...
Thanks, though I'll never recommend one to anybody who doesn't like DIY work! They're built like garbage. LOL. The Supra, while being a tank, is 10x better quality build than this car.
I would post pics, but I don't feel like it right now. I've installed my TCKline D/A coilovers (last weekend)...
This. Through extensive searching on the internet, I've found the above statement to be 100% true. :)
One tube, as IJ. said, goes a long way. It's more than enough for an oil pan!
It could be, but why not get a good copper crush washer for it? Or better yet, a Fumoto valve! I've been running...
I'll probably paint the interior myself. The exterior will be done by my paint guy. Perhaps the engine bay too- depends on how good the interior looks when I'm done with it.
LOL, truth!
LOL. Crack kills!
The plan is to have it moving under it's own power, with the interior and engine bay complete by summer of 2010. Exterior paint will be the last thing to do. I've got 90% of the stuff I need to finish the car, just no time to actually work on it. :(
My bet is that it wasn't actually torqued to 195ft lbs like it should have been. How do the threads on the bolt and in the crank look? It's not that common of a problem, but I've come across it before. I was forced to cob-job fix it, as the person I was helping didn't have the money for a full...
Sending you a PM, Bryan. :) I wanna get this cage in before winter, and hopefully get the interior painted. I'm tired of staring at a stripped out shell!
Drive one that's in good shape. ;) When they're worn out, they're worse than most other thrashed cars. But when you drive one that's been well maintained, it's a whole different monster than the Supra. Though, I love both. :)
Sweet. :) Before you get an alignment, I recommend you replace the rear trailing arm bushings. They'll effect rear toe, and if they've thrown in the towel, will prevent you from getting a good alignment.
Speaking of which, you're not planning on a stock alignment, are you? That would be such a...
