    Another new toy for me

Neat car, but are the headlights a bit foggy/yellowed? Can get those polished out and then clear coat them again (without the clear, they'll yellow again quickly). Really common here in Texas :(

    Rear sway bar bushing bracket.

The plastic endlinks were used because the early models (with metal endlinks) had a nasty habit of ripping the tab off the control arm. Dunno where you'd get the metal piece, but you could always just upgrade the sway bars...

ABS delete question on brake lines

:bsflag: Either you: 1) were following too close 2) locked the brakes up I'm about done with this thread. You're contradicting yourself every other post which means you're flat out lying.

ABS delete question on brake lines

Actually, ABS is only worse at stopping on soft surfaces (gravel, snow, etc) as locking the brakes up in such a situation allows the tires to dig in. On a flat surface, ABS wins everytime.

    clutch options 8xx hp ?

IMHO, anything over 500 should go twin or you run such high clamping force that it wears the thrust bearings in the engine. Multiplate will also be more reliable as most of the crazy single plates have issues.

Is my brake master cylinder dead?

Depends on your method of bleeding. If you're using a vacuum bleeder, they recommend going from closest to furthest. To check if the master is dead, loosen the 4 bolts holding the master to the booster, and pull the master away from the booster. There's a paper gasket there and if the master...

w58 with double diaphram pressure plate

W58 isn't going to handle 500HP for long, so you might be better off just swapping the transmission and getting a different clutch setup.

    tokicos or bilsteins?

It has to do with the angles in the suspension and the arc they travel through. You get a progressive setup, but with a linear spring. The few progressive springs for the MKIII juct have the "soft" part of the coil collapsed when the car is on the gorund, so they wouldn't work anyway (eibach...

Need help identifying a fitting on my FFIM

Usually, that's used to hook up the a vacuum manifold for items that need vacuum (the stock setup uses a fitting on the front of the intake manifold)

ABS delete question on brake lines

Ultimately, it's your car, but keep in mind that many race classes use ABS, and many have it banned because it's too effective and would be considered cheating!

    tokicos or bilsteins?

On our cars, KYB is OEM (without TEMS), the tokicos were I believe OEM (with TEMS), and bilsteins came on some special editions in Japan (and they make the TRD shocks). Also, progressive springs on our cars are pointless since the way the suspension moves is progressive. Also, on springs, they...

ABS delete question on brake lines

How would it not turn out well? That's exactly how you disable the ABS system. You're also forgetting the brake master cylinder is different on an ABS and non-ABS car. This really has nothing to do with your reaction times at all, it's the simple fact that you can't do what an ABS system...

ABS delete question on brake lines

All this is as simple as removing the ABS fuse... If you really wanted to be spiffy, you could wire a switch to cut power like removing the fuse would do, only from in the cabin.

Can't get the alternator back into the bracket

Yep, that bushing is meant to slide over to make the alt rigid. Same thing is done to the lower mount on the rear shocks.

Tookwik's 7M-GTE COP ignition mod w/ stock electronics...pics and writeup

Well, if yoo do some kind of hold down for the coils, they'll be grounded that way. The only reason that ground strap is needed for the stock setup is because the coils aren't rigidly mounted and instead use rubber insulators.

    ge intake on gte

You could run the better looking valve covers with the GTE setup as well if you're going COP ;) I remember someone long ago studying if the GE intake would be better, and I don't remember it going so well.
