No mechanic is ever going to touch my car EVER again unless he/she is a trusted enthusiast. You are in SoCal, DriftMotion is down there. Have them take a look at your car if you absolutely need a mechanic.
What about wrapping it with some tubing that shields heat. They look like the plastic wire tubing but is actually thin metal. I saw some at a local tuning shop and thought about running my wires through them. Now I'm thinking about covering up the hose to help shield it from heat. If I did...
If it goes to the VSV's, you will need to repair the wire. Check out this link: http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Elec__Products/Connectors/Sealed/sealed.html
I hope you guys have decent weather. I wanted to come out but it's raining and the wind is blowing pretty hard up here in Sac. I definately want to come out for the next meet though.
Man this code is super annoying. I tore the whole side of the motor apart to fix my wires and after running with no code for about 1 hour, it freakn pops back up.
I enjoyed the full power while it lasted though.
What I want to know is how I can get a new harness for my 90T Auto. Toyota says they're not in production anymore. Seems like some folks have been able to get the last few available. I have even contemplated buying all the plugs and building one.
I went over to SF and found the article. Maybe it was there that I saw it in the first place??? Man I need some sleep!
Anyways, here it is so you guys can use it also...

Hey All,
I have a good .pdf copy of the TSRM. It's for a 90 but you should be able to use it for all years of the MKIII. Put it on any mobile media and have it available whenever you need it. Enjoy!

Yes, what you say makes sense. Only thing is the teeth of the gear is slanted so when you slide it in, it will turn clockwise slightly. If you go counter clockwise one more tooth, it will not even come far enough with the housing turned all the way counter clockwise. Not sure if that makes...
Thanks for finding another thread on this. I'm a bit worried now cuz I am maxed out one way even though everything is aligned. The CPS in that pic has it in the middle so you can do some fine tuning if you needed.
Anyone else have any suggestions?
That's Shaeff's article that I used and that is why I was questioning the way mine looked.
Anyways, thanks to both of you for replying. I followed the TSRM procedures and ended up in the same position. I think I should be fine. Next step is the timing adjustment in diagnostic mode.
Good...
