    car wont start when hot

Rubbish. FPU = Fuel Pressure Up VSV = Vacuum Solenoid Valve FPR = Fuel Pressure Regulator Start with looking at your FPU VSV for the FPR. Check your vacuum lines going to and from the VSV and the FPR. Check that the harness, clips, or pins are not missing/broken/corroded on the VSV. Check...

How does a BB turbo work?

Also note that ball bearing turbos have yet to prove them selves in terms of life span VS journal bearing turbos. The filter technology and oil technology IMO have not caught up yet to the extreme precision and RPMS that a ball bearing turbo sees.

    GReddy Turbo Questions

This is correct. The only time either Greddy or HKS touches a turbo is when it goes in the box. Both companies' turbos are built under contract by Garrett or Mitsubishi.

    MDC's Holset/89 turbo silver buildup

Just a few updates since Ive had some time to knock some crap out. A few shots of the progress since the interior was gutted along with the engine bay. The green paper is a mock up template on how I would like the aluminum door skins to look. The bay has been prepped for paint and is getting...

    Switching Exhaust Housings

Yes you can switch the housings. You need to be careful not to bend or scrape the turbine wheel blades when doing so. You also need to make sure you match up housings for housings. For example: Do not try and make T28 exhaust housing fit on a To4 P trim turbine. Physically it will be...

How does a BB turbo work?

In a standard journal bearing turbo, you have a thrust stack, a thrust bearing, and journal bearings. The axial thrust is controlled by oil pressure and the thrust stack wrapping around the thrust bearing. The thrust bearing is kept in place by the front oil seal carrier / backing plate. The...

    oil pressure

Sounds right, although Id ditch the HKS in favor of a large cone style K&N. 100psi for that turbo is too much. On some of the smaller Mitsubishi turbos (think WRX) they have a restriction in the turbo itself. The 2.0 Boxer engine regularly see 100+ psi. As for the cartridge being off...

    Apex'i IHI C7 Turbo

Not bad. IMO, a little large on the wheels for such a small shaft. It is afterall, "old" technology. Reliable for the most part. You are correct. :-)

    GReddy Turbo Questions

You'd have to find the right turbo / machine shop to do this. You must remember, Mitsubishi is VERY VERY proud of their parts. The last time I priced out a TDO6-20g Compressor wheel it was $200!!!!
