I currently have a TD06H-20G on my 7mgte right now im hoping when I rebuild the motor the turbo will be able to make at least 500hp which is my goal. Now I like GReddy's Quality and was wonder if it was possible to modify the turbo to a 25G or if it would be easier to just find a TD06-25G. I know the TD06-25G using a different bolt on flange its like a 3 bolt triangle looking thing. Also are there any aftermarket manifolds that can be used with the TD06-20G, TD07-25G that fit the 7M.
Max HP I only want to make 550HP. I think the TD07 is a T4 turbo but I as stated before if the 20G can be upgraded to a 25G.

Thanks

You'd have to find the right turbo / machine shop to do this.

You must remember, Mitsubishi is VERY VERY proud of their parts.

The last time I priced out a TDO6-20g Compressor wheel it was $200!!!!

Hey JDM.

I've got a Frankenstein 5 TD06-20G. You may want to look into this rebuild. It's supposed to flow 750 cfm and uses a Garret 60 trim compressor wheel. Turbochargers.com used to have a really nice break down of all the Frankenstein turbos, but it seems they got rid of the page. HorsepowerFreaks offers the kit here:

http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/partdetails/Frankenstein/Turbos/Turbos_Only/Level_5/1443

I also had this in my files. It gives a little more of a breakdown in regards to the different types of turbos.

Turbochargers.com Frankenstein Turbos:
Frank 1 = 46 trim, 20*clipped TD05H turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 2 = 46 trim, unclipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 50 = 50 trim, unclipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 3 = 54 trim, unclipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 57 = 57 trim, unclipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 4 = 60 trim, 10*clipped TD06 turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 5 = 60 trim, unclipped TD06H turbine, TD05H 7cm2 housing
Frank 6 = 60 trim, unclipped TD06H turbine, TD05H 8cm2 housing
Frank 7 = 60 trim, 10*clipped TD06H turbine, TD05H 8cm2 housing

Hope this helps.

Mo

P.S.-Whats up Jon? Its been a while. Hope everything is going well for you man.

i wouldnt build with a greddy turbo right now. seeing as they just went under you would get zero factory support.

A TD06-20g is a Mitsubishi Moniker.

As stated by MDC

They are either Mitsubishi Turbos or Garrett (Honeywell) Turbos. Those two companies are still around. ;)

They don't. That is why they stick with the OEM designation.

TD06-20g is a Mitsubishi turbo as manufactured and speced by Mitsubishi. Greddy does not clip. And reghardless of what HKS says, They don't either!

This is correct. The only time either Greddy or HKS touches a turbo is when it goes in the box.

Both companies' turbos are built under contract by Garrett or Mitsubishi.

I have that turbo And I don't think utilizing that kit for 500rwhp would be make sense or adapting it to a 25g either. That kit has one of the worst elbows I have seen off the turbo its between 2.25 and 2 inch and a complete 90 degree bend. That's not saying its a bad kit, it spools very fast and make pretty good power. but i would say from the dynos i could find that its more suited too around 400rwhp. Also keep in mind that the greddy turbo is physically smaller then the stock turbo. Had the turbo really liked it ... but I don't think its the turbo for the job.
