I didn't know engine internals were rated in boost. With a bad tune and no knowledge I would say about 1psi

^^^ Nonsense! There's guys out there who are running eleventy billion PSI of boost on their stock CT-26, and still haven't blown their stock head gasket.

Crank up the boost as high as you can, and have fun! It's a Supra. It can take it!

Just crank it up to 49psi and let it run. Can't hurt a thing.

I would advise you to throw two ct's on your motor, then run 49 psi on each turbo. More power right?

Time to do some extensive reserch on how engines work with high boost

lol,, only like one helpful post of out all those? sorry but you guys should be nicer to new members. but for starters just throwing a T-70 turbo on the stock supra is not a good idea. you need a metal head gasket, ARP studs, 255 fuel pump, 550cc injectors or larger, lex afm, fuel pressure regulator, safc, wideband, 3in exhaust, and then get it tuned properly. the stock internals are pretty strong, but they arent rated in boost, there rated for horsepower. iv heard they are good up to 500-600hp.. dont take my word on that though. someone else on here should know that answer

Clifton was well into the (estimated) 600+ rwhp on stock bottom end but he knows EXACTLY what he is doing.

Remember 16 psi from your CT-26 is not the same as 16 psi from your T66, is not the same as 16 psi from your T-70.

To answer it simply if you got a wastegate that was big enough to dump enough volume to keep the motor below 14 psi you should be safe. That said you NEED a wideband to make sure your not lean, and I would read up on the timing and retard it a degree or 2 to make sure you dont waste your rings/piston. If you hear knock or pinging, chances are its too late. If your motor dosent smoke now, and it does 2 days after you install the turbo without a wideband, chances are you ran lean and broke a piston/ring.

All that being said, your SOTP meter will tell you that the car is WAY slower getting to the boost and will feel way stronger once your into the boost. You probably wont even be able to get to 14-16 psi in 1st or 2nd gear.

Do a Leakdown test NOW to make sure you KNOW when you damage the motor. It WILL happen if you dont know what you are doing.

those holes in the HG and pistons will be speed holes and make it faster! i like the idea of a leakdown test before so you know when you killed it later

oh yea heres the easy way that these chumps dont seem to want newbies to know just yet.

1. take stock engine at stock boost levels.
2. drive car repeatedly while upping the boost. 5-10 psi incriments are alot faster than tuning!
3. when the motor dies build a new one and go to the previous level that the motor was still running at for boost.
4....
5. profit!
