instead of making your own receiver, can you modify the stock? i'm assuming you shoot right handed, so could you modify the stock and hinge to fold to the left? off the top of my head i can't remember anything on the left that'd block it (or can't be adjusted)? edit: turn the hinge mechanism...

you could leave it the way toyota designed it? not trying to crush your dreams but it's going to be awful hard to outdo the stock setup unless you've got some mighty fancy equipment, money and time.

sounds like he is. I understand the hard work put into it and the need to display it, but i've only seen hondas and the like around here driving around showing off their chrome intake. i'd rather just display it at a car show with the hood popped.

i like helmsman or deft, but i've never had to do much more than the occasional project with it. maybe you could spray an automotive clearcoat, but i'm not sure how that'll react with the wood.
