^i've ALWAYS used my filter which is why I sometimes doubt dirt. However the fire from a couple years ago does come to mind, not sure just how heat resistant the seals are in the thing.

I have suspicions the fire i had a couple years ago severely shortened its life span and ability to seal properly by maybe drying out the seals.

I've owned a fluidyne and a mishimoto. Price wise they are on opposite ends of the spectrum, however due to the extra cooling capacity and excellent warranty which I've already used for replacement, mishimoto hands down takes the cake.
