The best group of car guys ever...

Hahaha yeah. I bought it from a middle eastern guy (his name was Faisal) who detailed it every morning. It was very clean, but he didn't know too much about the mechanical parts. He recharged the AC with that leak stopper r134 crap they sell at autozone so it turned to black death. $800 later...

So do you still own a DeLorean? What was your reason to get it? Mine was initially the movies, but I bought it because it was one man's dream to make a car. Of course that same guy was the car's undoing, but we'll gloss over that! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

I remember telling him around a month or so that I thought he had a bad plug. He said he had just changed them. The stock fuel pump delivered enough fuel for it to idle, and the fact that it wasn't idling well and the engine jumping all over the place made me think it was a crap fuel injector or...

Jetjock, the one I was always asked was "what happens when you hit 88?" You get a speeding ticket. They never really liked that answer. Dirgle, hand on my heart that is what happened. That dude was so fed up with all the problems that the car had that he asked if we could trade cars. Granted, he...

Sweet! I just scored a clutch fan at a pick-n-pull yard in Edmonds, so that should be nice. Now all I need is a fan shroud. I'm trying to figure out a good time to go on a group drive again. Late August or early September. I'm going to nail down a weekend today though once I look at my calendar...

Welcome Michael! There's a damn good group of people here. We just got done with a drive to Boise and back and enjoyed every minute of it (well maybe not the overheating bits). There are quite a few people down south by you (I'm on whidbey), and they seem to be a bit more active than up north...

    Calling all cruise control experts!

Well I found an issue! I am reading out the vacuum pump, and it looks to be open. The pump itself works, but the harness feeding power to it is bad. The ground side is good though. I just don't get how that would cause me to not get a speed sensor input. I'll still chase it down though and...

    Digi dash connectors

Awesome! Thanks so much! Sorry, I've been busy with tons of work with the driveability aspect of the car to get much headway with the digidash. I will get back to it. I promise! Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 4 Beta

Yeah, it really is. I think there is a speed that every car likes to be at. It is going fast, yet you are pulling a lot of vacuum so the engine isn't very loaded. Mine likes to be at 78mph which is quite a bit faster than the 60mph speed limit on most of I-5 here. Sometimes it goes to 70mph, but...

Oil Analysis - Post your VOA and UOA Here

Hey all, I have decided to take a crack at getting my oil tested. Downstairs from where I work there is a gas turbine oil analysis lab, so I grabbed a clean bottle from them yesterday and brought it home to change my oil. A little history first though. The engine developed the bhg and then the...

Hey everyone. I haven't been an active member on here since the end of last year when I got my 87 turbo for free. Since then my experience with the Supra Community has been nothing short of amazing. Since I started driving 13 years ago, I have owned lots of different vehicles. I'll see if I can...

    Calling all cruise control experts!

It is an issue after driving 20 hours on the freeway. Cruise control would have made the trip so much better. So would working power steering, but asking that a brand spanking reman'd steering rack wouldn't leak was a bit too much to ask as well. Oh well. The car has been sitting since 2009, so...

    Calling all cruise control experts!

I might do that if everything checks out as far as the wiring and switches go. My kid brother is leaving to spend 6 months underwater soon so we are hanging out with him this weekend and gonna jump out of a perfectly good plane for no reason. Should be fun but I won't have too much time to spare...

    Calling all cruise control experts!

I have a hard time believing the box is bad as well, especially since I didn't see any of the typical signs of component failure on the board. Since thiscar had leaky targa top seals on it when I got it, there was a lot of moisture in the vehicle from years of neglect. I replaced a lot of rusted...

    Calling all cruise control experts!

Okay, sounds easy enough. I don't have a sig gen so can I just use a simple 555 timer circuit set to like 20hz then? If not, I guess I could just jack up the rear with the engine running in 5th gear, but that seems a bit unsafe (Ferris Bueller's Day Off comes to mind). I checked voltages and...

    Calling all cruise control experts!

Sorry, I meant continuity to ground. I followed the procedures listed here http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/TSRM/MK3/manual.aspx?S=BE&P=80 and everything is indicating correct. Jetjock, what do you mean by dummy inputs? Like manually disabling them? I'm debating on pulling out all the pins...

    Calling all cruise control experts!

All right, I just tried reading these out for continuity. Still the same issue. This is so frustrating! Who woulda thought cruise control would be such an issue? Would anyone be willing to send me the manual dealing with cruise control?

    Calling all cruise control experts!

Yeah, I read that. What cancel inputs are there though? All the switches work the way they are supposed to work. If I'm driving at a steady speed of 40 mph without pressing the brake, clutch, or cancel switch, that should satisfy the cancel reasons, right? The parking brake switch is not...

JJ, I checked the type A codes and if I push the clutch, brake, or cancel switch, the led goes out, then when I release them, the light goes back on solid, even if I am driving over 19mph. As for type b codes, it just steadily blinks, which indicates normal. Any thoughts?
