A new manual transmission is in town... The 'V154' !

V160's are going to get more rare because the FR-S/BRZ/GT86 guys are switching to them. Had this discussion with others on that forum, there's tons of options, you just have to get the parts to make them work. I'll just leave this here: http://www.tremec.com/menu.php?m=94

    Budget brembo front brakes

Brembo =/= great. Good example is that you can do a direct bolt on of the STI brembos on the BRZ/FR-S/GT86. The fact is the stock rears are more powerful ruffles a lot of feathers... They're a decent OEM caliper, but they are known to have issues with the threads in the mounting ears...

A new manual transmission is in town... The 'V154' !

Helical gears introduce lateral loads that try to literally blow the case apart... Dog box is a different type of engagement for the gears. Easier with pics and too much to type: http://www.carbibles.com/transmission_bible.html

Debating on what to purchase 1j or a 2jzge swap.

Back when 1JZ front clips from Japan were cheap, 1JZ was a smart way to go. Now it's essentially the same cost to go 2J and it's a better, larger motor with better parts availability...

    Misprint?

It's why the CEO's name is Akio Toyoda :) "In September 1936, the company ran a public competition to design a new logo. Of 27,000 entries, the winning entry was the three Japanese katakana letters for "Toyoda" in a circle. But Risaburō Toyoda, who had married into the family and was not...

A new manual transmission is in town... The 'V154' !

Why? Also, if you can find one, C's short shifter was IMHO the best made.

    Question about TTR spring rates

High quality springs don't sag much if at all. TTR springs are going to be rare, and they're not enough drop to worry about. You're already a bit lower compared to a pre-89 :) Also IIRC Eibach's are functionally progressive. The "progressive" part is functionally a helper spring so the...

1988 Supra 7mge 93 Octane Optimal Base timing

Why when it only calls for normal gas? Higher octane isn't going to make more power, and it's going to be sluggish because of it...

    Fuel Cut due to what?

Full exhaust with a DDP will cause boost creep and can lead to fuel cut.

Did small burnout and now transmission won't shift into gear while engine is running.

FYI: you're installing the clutch the hard way (and it's likely to bend the pressure plate). PP is bolted to the flywheel after tranny is installed for a reason.

    Free revving after a pull

The more likely culprit is a sticky throttle linkage... I know you've checked, but it's not uncommon. Also check the throttlebody.

    Crankshaft " Pulley" ????!!!

Really, stop talking. There's a reason I rent out my pullers on a daily basis as it's common across all brands for them to be press fit. Also, mine had to be removed with a puller and pressed back on, and there was no corrosion and the pulley was a new one. I've also never once seen in the...
