hmmm normal zorst smell i think. to be fair after a few minutes it goes right away and only really noticeable in winter time
edit: ill have a sniff of it next time i start it though. wont be today though as ma alternater is on the kitchen table
Whilst looking for various faults on my car i came across this pipe
it goes under the alternator, and joins between 2 thin metal pipes. this then again goes back into a rubber pipe that goes into the intake manifold. crankcase breather?? im not too sure myself
when i found this i...
whilst looking about the engine bay for a possible coolant leak (hoping it isnt bhg as no symptoms now) i managed to have a quick check of some of the vac system pipes. when i squeezed the one that goes into the intake manifold at the very front edge the engine slows to a more normal idle speed...
I triped the conectors to check my engine for fault codes due to its high idle speed, lack of getting up to opperating temp and high fuel consumption.
i tripped T and E1 (prefacelift model)
the light on the dash board went like this:-
flash
flash
flash, flash, flash, flash...
lol its never happened to me yet, though i have had a couple of 240 volt (domestic uk voltage)shocks before. there quite amusing. been blown across a room once which was well rather funny to say the least once i had sorted my head out
friend of mine had his appendix burst 2 years ago. real bad for him, he was very lucky. i can remember him bitchin about it as he was released from hospital just before christmas but as they had kept him nil by mouth for almost a week he couldnt eat his christmas dinner. To say he wasnt ammused...
happy birthday fella,
here in the uk you could apply for a provisional liscence but iirc you wouldnt be allowed to drive till you turn 17. thats in a learner driver car with dual controls etc. it is possible to be a named provisional liscence holder on another persons insurance however...
ive had problems with both switches.
take them out. dismantle them, and get a bit of emery paper (sand paper or whatever its called in the us) and clean up the contacts.
rebuild the switch
easy job and its usually the cause of problems with these switches
right slight update here.
after i was last on here, the car has started warming up again. also the revs seem to have dropped off to a more normal (still a touch high) level.
Until last night though lol
When i used it on sunday afternoon i got in and started the engine (stone cold start)...
why has your car got a different master cylinder to mine? hasnt yours got abs or something?
theres a lot of differences to the engine bays between us and uk spec cars
had another check today and added less than half a litre if that of water. tiny bit today. weird thing now is the car seems to rise to temp and it wasnt the last 2 or 3 times i used it. I had figured the stat was stuck open but obviously it musnt be.
another quick check of the hoses today...
no bother at all. I should imagine the north east (where i live) being cheaper by a long way compared to london for example.
and yes taxes are ridiculous. iirc fuel prices are 10% spread between the original supliers, profit etc and 90% tax
cigarettes are the same, and i should imagine...
