Removing multiplex from 7MGTE for less than $200

Was it running on the sequential injection previously? Maybe try the inject tooth values from the previous page that I posted. Also I am not sure if 24 is the factory value for ignition sync. I thought mine was at around 0.5 but I would need to check.

don't correct both, only correct one of them. Leaving your wiring as is, you could use the phasing order of 4.5, 8.5 and 0.5 to get the car running. If you fix the wiring to match my guide (coil 1 to C2, coil 2 to C3 and coil 3 to C1) then you would use 0.5, 4.5 and 8.5.

Removing multiplex from 7MGTE for less than $200

I took it to dynomotive and tuned it myself. Toma gave me a good rate since I did all the tuning and operated the dyno. You need to fire each injector once per rev with 3 batches no matter what, like with waste fire coils. We'll see how it works going to 650s from 440s.

Comptable igniter for 2JZ-GTE Coils on Haltech 2000

a stand alone CDI unit like the AEM CDI with at least 6 channels will work, as will any standard 6 channel (at least) igniter. I would use the toyota igniters if possible as they better match the dwell settings on the coils. A CDI box or dumb ignitor will need to be set up properly for coil...

Removing multiplex from 7MGTE for less than $200

Had a look back at my dyno charts and saw the following: Best power achieved with a inject advance map starting at 0 and going to around 90 degrees at 7000 RPM. Base injector advance set to 0 teeth Injector phasing as follows: #1 12 teeth #2 4 teeth #3 20 teeth #4 8 teeth...

Comptable igniter for 2JZ-GTE Coils on Haltech 2000

You could use a pair of the DH61 igniters - see my writeup on using them with the 2JZ-GE waste fire coils. Or use a DH61 and waste fire coils - plenty of spark power, and will save $$ Or get a CDI system - 3 channels for waste fire coils or 6 for the GTE coils.

Yeah, you can set the banks about 6 - 8 teeth earlier than I did to inject on closed valves. I found this hurt my top end power, however.

I wouldn't bother with the .5 - I use that in the ignition map to make setting the base timing easier, but for fuel you can just use round numbers.

Removing multiplex from 7MGTE for less than $200

3 banks. Wired as stock. Bank firing order goes A-C-C-B-B-A with A being cyl 1 and 4, B being 2 and 6 and C being 3 and 5 Phasing set to 8 teeth for bank A (TDC intake for cyl 4), 0 teeth for bank B (TDC intake for cyl 6) and 16 teeth for bank C (TDC intake for cyl 5) This makes it at...

Removing multiplex from 7MGTE for less than $200

I already set the injector phasing up properly - helped alot with high RPM power, but still need to idle rich. Alot of standalones need to idle rich. Just a fact of life I guess - no biggie for me.

Removing multiplex from 7MGTE for less than $200

Mine won't idle any leaner than around 12.5:1 - I'm guess it is because it gets below the minimum pulse width for the injectors, owing to their semi-sequiential firing order.

The coil numbering is different between the 7M and 2JZ-GE, which is why you dont hook up c1-coil 1, c2-2 and c3-3 The coil numbering in the post above is for the 2J coils. If you are still using the 7M coil packs, you just need to make sure that C1 goes to the coil firing 2 and 5, C2 goes to...

    DH61 help

He told me in PM that once it actually starts, it runs fine. If the phasing was off it would only run on 2 or 4 cylinders, so no smooth idle. I told him to check the static timing.

    AEM pnp. cps or trigger-wheel?

The multiplex issues are present pretty much all the time, and it can be a massive headache. Better to upgrade at least the ignitor, and better it and the coils. It's no suprise that the multiplex ignition system signalling method has not been used in any Toyota since the 7MGTE, or before...

    vipec 44 - 7mgte - ignition

You could run the DH61 ignitor like for my mod for AEM setups to ditch the stock ignitor and associated problems. You can then use the stock coils, or 2JZ-GE waste fire coils.

    AEM "vs" AEM V2

Read here http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100739 It is a simple way to replace the multiplex ignitor with a standard 3 channel one that matches the toyota coils (2JZ-GE or 7M-GTE) quite well, and operates them in waste-fire mode. The multiplex ignition is one of the main...

    AEM "vs" AEM V2

Getting the stock ignitor from the 7MGTE to work with the AEM is a huge pain as - is, better to just spend the cash to make a standard 3 channel ignitor work, or go to a standalone CDI system of some sort. the gen1 AEM can work really well, it's just very ornery, and needs to be installed and...

Removing multiplex from 7MGTE for less than $200

Just leave it as it is with spark teeth set to 12, and the spark tooth values the same as with batch fire injection. Setting the fuel teeth and fuel tooth values is totally separate, as in you can have 12 spark teeth for waste spark, and 24 fuel teeth for sequential injection. the series 1...

Removing multiplex from 7MGTE for less than $200

Good to hear. I bolted the ignitor to the metal of the engine bay to help dissipate the heat - the DH61 also gets quite hot, even on a 2JZ-GE with the stock TCCS. Like I said, with the phasing it either fires on all cylinders, or it doesn't (either 2 or 4) so once you set the phasing...

Yes, as long as you use the ignitor I specified (DH61) Hal, I have no idea - but you said DS62 ignitor, maybe it is wired differently? I have personally seen this mod work on at least 4 cars now.
