So I've driven the car about 20,000 km over the last year and in that time I have decided that while the clutch setup isn't terrible, it could use improving. The throttle response from the 2GR-FSE is better than the 4GR was and as such having the dual mass flywheel with the dampened clutch disc...
The speedometer issue is pretty certainly a mechanical one. The idle issue is likely unrelated, but you say they occur at similar times. Not sure why that would be. The ECU receives no speed signal when you are idling (not moving), and typically the speed signal would not have much of a bearing...
Did the first oil change on the new engine this week and finally got the new tires on the car, they're Bridgestone Potenza RE-71R in 245/40R17 front and 245/45R17 rear. I would have preferred to keep the square tire setup, but the differences between the IS250 and IS350 VDIM parameters just...
As long as people keep buying parts in high enough quantities, they will keep making them. People haven't been buying enough parts to make it worth their while. Why not? Because they didn't sell enough of the cars when they were in production and there are evn less now and the people who have...
The teeth should be flat when they're new. The one on the right looks like they're pretty worn. It looks like the Bosch starter uses a different design than Denso. The Denso one you've got looks correct and what the original starters that came from Toyota looked like.

So the computer showed up last week and I got that installed, added a relay, and assembled a junction connector.
After a couple of hours of test driving the night I installed the ECU, I headed out for the weekend on a 2,500km (1,550 mile) trip through the mountains to properly test...
If it was me, and I just needed to be able to drive the car around, I would swap all of the external parts and electronics from the 7M-GE onto the 7M-GTE and drive the car. You'll be a bit low on power due to the compression, but the rest of it will be fine. Yes the intake cam is slightly...
Finally got the last of the parts (aside from the ECU) today. Will need to add the wiring for these new sensors and I swapped out one of the MPX ECU's in the dash earlier this week. Not sure the best way to get the new wires into the engine ECU box, but probably de-looming the body harness. Not...
04491 and 04492 have been gone since the mid-90's when Toyota started selling the pieces of that complete kit (which includes pads, shims and fitting hardware) separately.
04465-14370 - Pad Set, Front Disc Brake
04945-24010 - Shim Kit, Front Brake Anti-Squeal
04947-14290 - Fitting Kit, Front...
I'm sure most of the time they'll be fine, and even if it was going to cause an issue, that issue will likely just be reduced life. In other words, the seal will maybe start leaking sooner than it normally would have. Most often you won't notice it for a couple of years at least.

I disagree, there are quite a few oil seals from Toyota that come dry but are meant to be greased upon installation, this includes the rear differential side seals:
There are very few if any oil seals on the A70 that should not have grease on them when they're being installed, if they came...
I've spent the last month or so dealing with various electrical issues, some to deal with differences between the ECU and the car and so on. It was a bit more specific than I was expecting in some cases, but as of last night I finally figured everything out and hope to get the car completely...
