That's why I said selectable locker, as in one that you can lock/unlock. I'd never run a full time locker in the rear of a truck that's used in the snow on-road. And having a locker in the front makes the truck understeer like crazy in snow. I'd never run lockers front/rear without them being...

    im a dumbass....

Ah that sucks, dude! Glad you made it back without frostbite, though! :) I ride a POS, $200 1987 (I think it's an '87) Polaris 400 two-up. It's got balls for being so old. I basically got it because I wanted something to beat the snot out of in the woods and not worry about wrecking it. Totally...

Headlight mod... do these fit the bill??

Grim, you could always get http://www.lightwerkz.net/index.php to do it for ya... They do great work. If I didn't do my own retro on the M3 I'd have had these guys do it.

    damn valve cover gaskets

That appears to be the rubber parts. You'll need to re-use the steel caps that go on them from your old ones.

    Toyota trucks

Yeah I know. I just don't know what size tires I'll end up with so I don't want to buy new. With the 7MGTE in there, I'll have all the power I need, and if I get a crawl box I should have more than enough gearing for around my area. I'll never NOT have a Toyota Pickup. I love these things!

    damn valve cover gaskets

Neither. Get the OEM washers. They're rubber with a steel cap.

    7mgte pistons and crank in a 7mge?

This is misleading. Swapping turbo pistons (8.4:1 CR) in a N/A car (9.1:1 CR) is going to make that car an absolute slug, amongst other problems if not properly tuned for it. Read: don't do that and stay N/A.

    Toyota trucks

True. They also make cable conversion kits for the e-locker. Honestly, I'd pounce on either if I could find one locally. I'm not worried about OBA- I'm going to build a custom bracket to mount a York compressor to the pickup so I can run air tools off it if I want, not to mention airing up.

    Toyota trucks

E-locker is nearly drop in, I know. I almost had one about a year ago but it was sold before I could pick it up locally. :( They both have their ups and downs. E-locker has a motor sticking off the side of it which can be destroyed if you hit something, or can hang up on you even with a MC...

    Toyota trucks

Nice pre runner! :) I'm diggin' the fenders. You on Yotatech? That truck looks vaguely familiar... Mine, which will undergo a 9.1:1 CR 7MGE->T swap this summer if I play my cards right. (I've got the parts, but never the time!) Currently sporting nothing special: Marlin Crawler tubular rear...

    98 land rover verses a 95 BMW 740 il

My e36 M3 is a POS in comparison to the Supra. I bought it with 98k miles on it. It's not built nearly as well as the Supra is.

    Off road places

For what it's worth, many consider a rear locker to be a full 50% increase in traction. That's a LOT of extra grab for any vehicle. And most 4wd trucks are really only two wheel drive anyway, unless they come with dual LSDs. True four wheel drive would be if the vehicle is locked at both ends...

    Leftynridge complete restoration build thread

I bought the steel at Lowes or Home Depot. It's plenty good for that type of stuff. I recently reinforced the rear subframe on my M3 and used good quality scrap steel that I got for free.

CPS/Distributor rebuild instructions Where is the post?

Search through the articles. Generally whenI link to a post, it's because I remember the author so I just search under their name. JJ probably did the same for 3p's.

Cars you'd one day like to mod...

Mine, very dirty. I'd love a Unimog, slantnose Porsche, BMW 2002, old 240, and quite a few others. As soon as I build a house, this is mine, too. Starting to put money into it this summer.

Spotted: '89+ White MKIII in Coxsackie, NY

I want to know who it is, car looks pretty clean. It's certainly not me! Yeah, I know. To push the LOLs a bit further, the name of the town right down the road is Climax. Yes, I'm serious. And no, I do not live in either of those towns. haha!
