I'm trying to get a job right now that is 23 miles away, and then going to a school which is 40 miles in the opposite direction... so needless to say I've been searching for a car that does at least 30 MPG as well.

Thats because you live in cal. come up north to the rocky mt's where its chocked full of snow and ice 4 months of the year and the smaller towns are full of bigass suv's and trucks and roads maintained to truck standards. I moved to this small as town and my car was getting brutalized daily.

I drive about 80-100 miles a day, and get 23.4mpg in my DD. It sucks, its boring, drives like crap, right now I've got the 7M in the trunk and the added weight was the final straw for my front brakes, and now I can barely drive that car.

I wish I had the Supra

I daily drive my Supra about 30 miles a day.

I'm fine with it and I think it's a lot more funner then driving a Civic even though my supra gets like 15 miles to the gallon...:3d_frown:

24 mpg for me......

......

when it runs......

good point about the dd thing.....

on a plus note it looks like the shop that built my engine may replace the headgasket for free since they put a stock one in when they built it (they didnt want to wait the two month back order; considering that they are the local 7M guru, i figure they should have a MHG in stock at their shop, but oh wells).
I'll prolly have to front the cost of the mhg since they didnt charge me for it to begin with, but at least they'll front the labor (i don't have the tools or time to do it myself; i'm busy sun-up to sun-down between school and working w/ horses).

There is a good thing about having one as a dd tho......

gas mileage isnt as good, but it beats the shit outt drivin' a honda :D
I like being able to change speeds and pass people by barely pushing the throttle. fast cars are safer than slow cars because when you pass someone, you get around them faster, rather than trying to beat some oncoming truck/car.

my supra is a hell of a lot better dd than my truck, however; this beast gets 8 mpg, so these days i freeze my balls off driving my bike to class (50 mpg)

I guess it depends on how far you drive. I use my supra as a DD . Yesterday I paid 3.45 per gal. I spend about $40-$50 per week for gas. Its worth it tho. I have more fun in the supra then any other car. Sometimes I just make up a reason to go to the store :)

Sounds like Michigan roads. Pot holes the size of sink holes. I think (conspiracy theory) we have some of the nastiest roads to test the Big 3's vehicles. Survive 100k miles here and you know the vehicle can take a beating.

Company gas card FTW! I don't pay for any gas in my DD. Although, if I have to run higher octane gas (supra) I have to keep track of the cost of regular unleaded and pay the difference. I'll probably end up driving the Supra to Florida and leave the Saab in Michigan for the winter. Supra + ice/snow/salt = disaster
