Assuming that a large percentage of people here would like to one day own a MKIV (I would rather have my MKIII), why would you waste the money on going 1JZ first. If you have the ability to save the money for the swap, why not take that cash, and your MKIII , and somehow get into a N/A MKIV through trade or sale of the MKIII. If you can save that much once for a swap, you could do it again to upgrade your N/A MKIV.

Just curious.

Id love to own an MK4 but the asking price for a good one is too much. Even one with a broken engine or tranny is like 13-15 grand. (at least here it is) So a running one goes for the price of a 2009 vehicle without the warrenty.

I don't plan to go 1jz though, I like my 7M and you are right, if I ever had enough money for a 1JZ i'd just save up for the MK4, even if its just an N/A

Even NA MKIV's sale for $20,000.00 if they are in good shape. The people that own them know what you want to do with them so they sale them for ungodly amounts of money. Like you said, I would rather have a MKIII, but I also love the jz engines, so I feel I have the best of both worlds.

I never understood the MKIV's appeal besides that damn nice motor and the amount of after market parts available. If I had one I'd strip it and sell the chassy, but that's just me :).

I used to think the same way. But then I saw how damn sexy a black wingless MKIV was in person!

Also, I <3 my 7m so I'm not planning on going JZ of any sort with this current Supra.

Well, I'm down right think wingless MKIV's are plain nasty, so I don't think that will be an issue for me. I actually prefer the stock TT look to any of the kits, and wingless. I could probably rock a stock TT RSP I guess.

The 300s is nice but yeah I like the BAM I'm a supra thing. It happens with the MK3 but not as much as the mk4 crowd. I just really like the design on the mk4

because not everybody likes the design of the short throw 1jz or the square design of the 2jz, i like the 7m and how the power comes on. plus i can get heads and blocks from pick and pull for a fair price. unlike 2jz stuff. have you ever compared prices for 2jz parts compared to 7m parts? you can build 3 or 4 motors with the money you have to spend on the 2jz. i would love to go 1jz, but smog? hahahaha, i like making it easier for myself.

Yes, 7m's are cheap. But, the post is about a 1jz, not a 7m :) You also have to take into account those BHG jobs. I just think if you are going 1j, why not 2j? Sure things are more pricey but in the long run you have alot more potential and alot of aftermarket support aswell. 2j's are pretty cheap.
