Why does everyone underestimate the MKIII?

Was shootin gthe shit about horsepower today and my 87t came up.. we were talking about dyno numbers.. Ive seen a few STOCK mkiiit's will put down anywhere from 175-190 RWHP.

One guy thought supra's were 4 cylinder, another said it couldn't make anymore then 200 HP at the crank let alone the dyno... another said, "i dont know why you would buy that car when I know you love racing/speed" something along those lines.. Like i know a stock supra is not the fastest thing in the world, but its no slug. I Just want spring to be here so I can dyno my beast running at 12 psi on manual boost. what does 12 psi usually run on the dyno anyway? 3 inch exhuast, intercooler 2 inch hardpipes, k&N, one peice drive steal drive shaft is also what i have,

Anyone here ever race or shut a guy down after they dispresct your car?

hahah see more proof.. I wish people would realize this but they think its some slow ass 80's car.

A worn out engine that hasn't been rebuilt and is old shouldn't be making good power, which is why some dynos are lower than others.

and to answer your last question.. I had a guy here when I had my black turbo supra that ran his mouth about his built chevy truck and said no way a 6 cyl could beat his v8 well long story short I walked him bad every since hes had respect for supras and told anyone that doubts them around him what there capable of....


dont worry there are a lot of people out there that dont know anything about cars that try to act like they do..... the main thing I love about supras is there horsepower potential..... throw the appropriate mods on and turn up the boost and they respond very well... stick a bigger turbo on and there all set...

make them respect the car by showing them what it will do....

what are your mods on your supra

your 100% correct....

if your friends dont believe you let them see some of the vids of the mkiii supra and what it is capable of... there are plenty of vids of mkiii's out there go into the vids section and let them see the vid of the pinks supra that won.. and the orange supra(tony's) that runs in the 9's....

1: 272rhp/274tqr 8psi
full 3inch exhaust, rebuilt bottom end, head was rebuild about 10k before. ,mhg and maft pro.
car 2: 324.14whp,317.49 trq 12.5psi average. see sig for mod list.



these car's can be very fast sleepers. both of the numebrs i showed you were on stock ct26. the second car was running out of fuel by 5k and was using n/a cams

right now youve got more mods than pokey had so you should be at more than 225rwhp if you have a healthy engine....

install
a 3" down pipe
a boost controller
some sort of cold air intake filter K&N and apexi flow the best from the test out there
then turn the boost up to 12 psi and youll be quite a bit quicker than you are now....

but bottom line is dont let people that sound like they dont know crap about cars bother you... there are always crap talkers out there and will always be.. I dont waste my breath with them

Alot of people don't even know anything about turbo , some of them think their stock vtak are fast some others think stock v8 are fast disrepect mk3 supra because it's heavy but they didn't realize you can make slow mk3 fast as simple as intake ,exhaust , intercooler hardpipes and turn up the boost .I have ct26 57trim looks like stock , it smoked all 13 second cars around my area .

I know a guy who has a '94 del Sol. He claimed all this stuff about how my 89NA auto stood no chance. He just had a JDM B18 vtec engine put in. So we had a run at it. He got off the line faster but then I took the lead til we let off at 110mph...so yeah i shut him down not by much but i did.

it happens....i deal with it all the time....then a guy ran his mouth about his modded c5 'vette he had....well, he had a big head till i ran dead even with him from a dig on an untuned 7m with stock ct pushing only about 11~12PSI and terrible timing

Yet for some reason, noone has even pulled along side me and tried to race me. IDK waht to think of it. People either talk too much shit, or they see "SUPRA" and dont do anything.

heres my take. our mk3's are HEAVY. about like any of the cars in its class. its a highway cruìser. kinda underpowered consdering an alltrac of the same year makes more power with 2 less cylinders and the same turbo. i love the mk3 because its balanced with its weight and even with the amount of power it has it has potential for high numbers without worry of the rear end and transmission crapping out. my brother owns a 12sec 86 fox body. my dad owns a 70 dart and i own a 3s powered 85 celica drag car. and still i love my mk3
