With such big tires/wheel combos compared to stock, what would the handleing be in comparison?? would they be worse or better?.. we all know the looks are there. would it alter the ride factor, would it make the car 'go all over the road' as in follow all the bumps and make it difficult to manage?
stock would be like 16x7x 225 all round
to say like uno
18x8.5(and above) 245(and bigger) size tires on front?
18x9(and above) 255(and bigger) on the rear?
Or is this a dumb question lol, cheers
Yes, wider tires will make the car more prone to following the road... ifyou enjoy driving non-chalantly with half a hand on the wheel... that will change quickly with wideass tires :biglaugh: It's not difficult to manage, but it certainly keeps you awake and paying attention.
IMO, it makes the ride smoother as that you don't drop into cracks and pot holes, you kinda ride over them cuz the tire's so wide anyway. Wieght however is an issue... wider wheels tend to weigh more, and all things stock, you'll lose some top speed, some acceleration (but you'll get more traction), and possibly increase your braking distance in ideal curcumstances; with a heavier wheel. Note that no situation really is idea, a wider tire means more grip, and more grip equals more braking power on the road... but, my point i'm making is it will take more brake force to stop a heavier wheel from spinning. Kinda irrelavent, but something to know I suppose. Usually the tire is the weak point, not the brakes themselves.
Everything is a trade off.
