18x9 rears, +37 offset....what is the biggest tire I could run without rolling? lowered w/ coilovers.

Edit, my options are 265/35 or 275/35, I think either one would go with 18x9 +37???

With such big tires/wheel combos compared to stock, what would the handleing be in comparison?? would they be worse or better?.. we all know the looks are there. would it alter the ride factor, would it make the car 'go all over the road' as in follow all the bumps and make it difficult to manage?

stock would be like 16x7x 225 all round

to say like uno

18x8.5(and above) 245(and bigger) size tires on front?
18x9(and above) 255(and bigger) on the rear?
Or is this a dumb question lol, cheers

Decent question.. If you go to small you get no traction in the rear. If the front doesn't grip you will understeer.

I went 275 on a 18x9.5 +35 so I think you ca go up to 275 if you want.

I'm so confused right now...so 245's can work fit well with the sawblades? Wow!

Thanks Bor, I figured as much. With all the shit I've been through w/ the wheels, I needed that expert opinion.

This pic is an 8 +37, so the wheel would be out 1/2 more, plus the tire difference.

With the Kaminari rear bumper you're sporting, you need to upgrade to 19s.:naughty:

I am sad to say that although there are many nice cars in this thread, the typical Supra owner buys wheels that are meant for a more midsize car, such as a Honda Accord or Nissan 240SX. Why can't the owners of powerful fullsize sports cars buy rims that aren't mega-gay 8/10 times?

If your wheels are only 7 inches wide, there is no excuse for having offsets in the the high positives. The below car is very nice, but it could be so much better. The way the body hangs over dead air makes it look like a hovercraft.

You guys need to start running shit like this! No excuses!

This is much better sized wheel, on a 2/3 sized car. It might be a bit much for the average MA70 guy, but you don't even need a damn widebody to run those wheels. Just modify the fenders....man you guys can be lame-sauce...BTW Shine FTMFW

How do you group an Accord and a 240 in the same sentence when it comes to wheel fitment? 240 guys are fitting wider and more agressive wheels than most supra guys.

Don't worry, I've read all 168 pages of fitment, bitches on ZT. I am aware that many many 240SX owners are pushing the limits.

But if you were to say, pick a safe size rim to buy for your mom's 240SX or Accord, a 17 X 7 +35 would look good enough, and there would never ever be a chance of rubbing etc. But the Supra has a huge body, and fenders to match. As such, that size of wheel is not impressive on the vehicle. let's not get too technical here, but there is a pretty definable margin between holy sweet and total gay.

I want to push all the cars to try new things, and to look as awesome as possible.

Is 17.5 an offset???
I'm looking at buying some wheels and he said that he didn't know the offset but he sees 16x17.5 stamped on the side...
Would these fit?? :dunno:

Is that guy sure that it didn't say 16 x 7.5?

I don't know...he is confused. But they are 100 bucks for all 4 of em. He says they are 16x8 all around and had 245/45 but then comes back and say he don't know the offset but 16 x 17.5 were on the wheel.

Time to bring the experts in. My car still runs sawblades.

I'm looking at a set of Equips, 18x8 +30 and 18x9 +35. It seems the fronts will stick out 13mm more and the rears 31mm more. What's this going to look like? Is this still playing conservative?

Is 9" enough on the back or should I be looking at 9.5 or 10" ?

Equips are hard to find so I'm just looking at whatever I can find and seeing if they'll work.
