This is my thread, I have to be fast. :biglaugh:
i think you should check over your first post.

18x8.5+35 & 18x9.5+35 w/ 245/40/18 & 275/35/75 tires

275/35/75? don't think a tire that big would fit properly on a 18" wheel :biglaugh:

Nice rim you got there turbo-a.. :icon_razz

Saw this rim at the chop shop last week but I was too reluctant to buy due to 17inch size.

Yeah I was thinking the same. With those offsets you can go a step or two larger in the rear.

My dad has the same size wheels on his r33 skyline and it handles very well, so i thought i might go the same..
Aww i didn't know that! :( they look kind of strechy so i could have fit like 285 on the rear or something?

275 or 285 would fill it out nicely. I would also go up to a 245 in the front. It's not like the car looks bad as it sits. This is just some constructive criticism for the future when you need to replace those tires.

Not really a wheel fit question, more of a tire fit question:

Anyone running large diameter and width tires while slightly lowered? I'm looking to get some 295s at about 27" diameter (compared to stock 25"). I am lowered about 1". Anyone running a similar tire and what offset or backspace are you running? Thanks guys.

Have you ever seen a stock MKIV wheel on a MKIII? This is what I use to base all of my measurements and fitment characteristics.

Yes, they look great.

The MKIV rear is 17x9.5 +50, and sits pretty decently flush on the car.

a +42 will make it stick out 8mm more, which will be neglegable in difference. Spacers would not be needed, or recommended (it would make them stick out MORE)

The front looks different. Factory 17 x 8?

Old post, I know.

I haven't read this whole thread, but I just ordered 17 x 8's for the front and 17 x 9's for the back with 35 offset for both. They are 5 x 114.3. Please tell me these are going to fit.

They will fit, your engine just won't have the grunt to get rolling. ;)

question. i looked through much of this thread , but haven't seen anything about an 18x8 and 18x9.5 , both being +43mm offset.

anyone ?

18x9.5", w/ a 43mm offset is pretty good. You could run a 285/30, or maybe even a 295/35 on there w/o any problems. The 18x8 with a 43mm offset, will however, look a little "sucked in". The ideal offset for an 8" rim is about 30mm. I would get a good set of 10mm H&R hubcentric spacers, and run a 245/35-18 tire on it. Should be just about right.:icon_bigg
