Yea, Im pretty sure its a 40 side wall. Im not with the car right now, so ill get the specs for sure tomorrow. Also, if you notice, that guys tire seems to be stretched. So the sidewall will not "poke" out like mine seems to.

Ill get the specs for you tomorrow though. haha I could be wrong.

Airhead, what's you're tire specs? Are you sure it's a 40 sidewall? The reason I am asking is this guy said his is a 40 as well but your tires are much higher on the sidewall and look more aggressive which is what I want.

Remember the 40 sidewall is the percentage of the tire width. For example, 40% of 275 is not the same than 40% of 255;

275/40... thats a lot different then 225/40 : )

(just so IBoughtASupra realises... I responded as a comment.. I just learned the 40 = percent myself)

What do you guys think about a 17x10.5in +36mm offset? I am trying to figure the ideal offset for a 18x10.5 or 17x10.5 wheel (if you had your choice).
Thanks in advance!

I am running 18x8.5 fronts and 18x9.5 rears 35mm offset all around.... perfect fitment. Tires are flush w/body and no rub.

Thats the exact setup I am doing on mine.. what tire size are those.. they look perfect.
Also.. are you lowered?

The only difference between yours and mine (bodywise) is sideskirts and rear bumper addons I have. Sharp car!

There is the tire size and you can see where it rubbed when I hit that bump. Dug in deep, but they are still holding air. :/

I posted to ask. I didn't know the width of the tire, just that it was a 40 sidewall. So that is why I asked. Makes sense that the picture I posted the guy stretched his tire which is why the sidewall looks smaller.

Thanks airhead for the picture!

One more question, how is the front? Any heavy steering with those large tires up front? Fender liners still in place. Think I can keep the thick sidewall like your car but run a smaller width?

I have no knowledge on rims. :-/

Ah, haha. The front isn't 275! Lol. I'm running 245/40/18 in the front. No fender liners in mine just because I'm in the process of making some out of some aluminum. My fenders are "rolled". The reason I put the "" is because I only rolled the LARGE tabs on the fender. If you understand what I mean. And there is no rub in the front at all.

do you think it would clear the suspension to do this same set-up in +39 offset with the same width and tire maybe 285 in the rear

I think it will. I car I am working on right now is running a 19x11.5 +33 with a 295 tire and there is still inner clearance.

Okay.. those may be a bit too wide for me. I want them to be exactly set in so that the outside edge of the sidewall meets the fender wall...
I had tires that would rub if a "bigger" bump was driven over and I hated it.. lol

Hi fellas, Im looking at some 17 x 9 with +22 offset all around, can anyone confirm that they will work? Ive read here that 17 x 9 +20 offset all around works so i should be fine?

Can anyone tell me also if i could still dial some negative in with these and perhaps how much?

Thanks
