I recently had a set of purple injectors flowed and tested with the same part number as the 440cc purple one and they came back 540cc injectors! WTF?Toyota/denso gone mad!

I'm starting to get confused too. I hit the dyno yesterday to get my tune refined, it was running way too rich. I put down 472whp @ 19psi & 90% duty cycle. It was bumped down to 17psi & 80% duty cycle & still made 448whp (maybe 442, I can't remember). These were on injectors that flow tested at 450cc. I don't get it.....

you got the wrong sheet or the test messed up somehow..

I have to agree. I've seen too much with my own eyes to think likewise....

When you send yours in you had the purple ones that came back 440cc, Aaron and I asked you if you wanted the JDM ones (grey) so we didn't have to wire in a resistor pack and that is what you have. But after flowing the purple ones and grey ones and coming back the same kind of confused me. Two months ago I sent in a set of purple ones ( same part number) in and they came back 540 cc :dunno: I need to send in more to get more data. I want to get to the bottom of this.

I know its going off topic a bit but what do you have to modify to fit the usdm 550cc to the 1jz, I've heard you have to use a 7m resistor just wondering how it wires and and how it works

I'm confused as to the different flow rates it doesn't make sense how some people get 550cc and others get 440cc, have denso screwed up?
Cheers

I just put a set of purple top "550s" in my 1j...wired up the resistor box correctly and everything, yet the engine has a miss..but is running a lot richer than my 440s that were in there. I will be sending my purple tops out to RC to be cleaned and flow tested on monday. I will post resluts asap.

not sure of the cc's so if someone can convert this for me it would be great.
100ml@25.7s Pulse Time (pulsed flow rate)
102ml@12.2s Open Time (full open flow rate)

100ml = 100cc
injector ratings in cc's are the cc flow per minute
too lazy to get a calculator now, I'm off to bed as it's past midnight over here

I had that part figured out but not sure how to figure out the whole flow thing

This is ridiculous. Hmm good think I didnt purposely seek usdm 550's.. By my power constraints I went with 6 free 3s 440's instead. Hmm. Kinda annoying though isnt it, I was gonna go to larger numbers @ years end so thanks for the info guys.

IDK about that. Jose and I have flow tested and cleaned 440s in our cars and they came back 450s.

I have the flow charts so it is correct. (mine are just more JDM TYTE YO more than yours and Joses) I dont know what is going on with thie injector issue though as they all seem inconsistent. I guess the best thing for everyone to do is send yours out to be cleaned and flow tested.

I just purchased a set of USDM 550s from a 1993 TT . .. I still need to wire up the swap so I can send these out for research sake .. .

BTW is there a way to clean them myself cuz RC wants 150 for the testing .. . That's not a lot but it's a lot . . . know what I'm saying. I just don't want to afford both cleaning and testing.

Cheers,

Jago

okEdokE, I did some googling on DIY injector cleaning . . . no such thing. Shops like RC or wherever use a chemical solution with ultrasonic whatever. The ultrasonic junk does most of the cleaning. I have seen this on MonsterGarage or something .. . cept it was for tools.

So I am concluding that injector shops are seriously over charging for cleaning injectors. .. RC wants $25 per injector and add 4.50 per for my side feeding injectors . . . total $171 for them to stick 6 injectors into the same blinkin chem bath for an hour may be less. Um no!!!!

For the love of potatoes or whatever does anyone know of a decent DIY trick?
