Well, I took the front off jackstands and put the rear on them. I then crawled underneath it and removed the na catback part of the exhaust since it is too short. I halfassed tried to undo a nut or two on the axle shafts but I'm going to need to stuff to spray on and help loosen them up.
Other than that, nothing...Oh, wait. I did receive a new cps cover and seal.:icon_bigg

Well today in North Texas was a beautiful day. High around 66 and no wind.::w00t::

So I took that opportunity to work on the car. So much to do and didn't know where to start. I began with swapping the cps and repairing some severely frayed wiring. I cut the distributor plug off my ge harness and replaced the one on my gte harness. Then I took the cover off the cps, snapped a photo to see where it was sitting and pulled it, put the other in, plugged it in and it started right up.. Bad news is is that it still has a stumbling miss but it doesn't die when I move the cps wires around. So decided to tackle something else for a while....the differential.

Thank God I had a impact to get those six nuts off the shafts. I got the 4.30 out and my 86.5 now officially has a 3.91 LSD!!!! It was more difficult getting the drive shaft back up and connected. My arms are so damn weak and tired from laying on my back pushing the shaft up so I could bolt it up. I can barely lift my glass of water now. My hands were so greasy so didn't get but only a few pics for today. So now all I really need to do underneath the car is put some kind of exhaust on it. I sprayed a shitload of penetrant on my na cat to remove it from the na downpipe and was able to get it off. It is longer than the turbo cat I found out, so I can put my na exhaust back on for TEMPORARY use. Then I can take it for a short TEST DRIVE....fuck yeah!!!!!

Old 4.30 now OFF the car

My son actually took this picture while I was bolting up the shaft. It's the LSD ON the car.

Old cps. My camera sux when trying to get real up close pics. I was trying to get the bad wiring to show up.

Good work Ken! I wish I could make progress like you do every time you work on your car. Sometimes, like today, I work on it, but get absolutely nothing to really post about done. You on the other hand, always seem to get something good done.

You are right George, we could have drank a good time on what I wasted away that night at the hard rock.

Yeah for boobies!!!!

And yes, my arms are quite tender today. I haven't had to lift anybody today yet so we'll see just how sore they are later.

Do yall remember me posting about my back and the problems I've had with it? Well today I was finally able to get into the neuro surgeons office. We changed insurance at work on Jan 1 and before that he wasn't on our particular ins. Well anyway I got in to see him and I'm supposed to be getting an MRI on my neck within the next week hopefully. He seems to be of the opinion I have a pinched nerve in my neck causing my arm and leg weakness. After I left the docs office I go straight to Jack in the Box and get me an Ultimate Cheeseburger! They are FTMFW!!!

After I get home I start messing with the car. Todays weather is windy and 84 f*cking degrees with storms tonight. I take my SM printouts out with me and first I discover that I'm a dumbass ::dunce::. I found that the number 2 and 4 plug wires were backwards on the coilpacks. I swap them over to their correct place, fire up the car and low and behold the car is running so smooth I can barely feel it idle. I rev it up a few times, get a woody from hearing the turbo spool and then it starts to have an intermittent miss again, but NOTHING like before. I still plan on replacing the wires and checking the gaps on the plugs.

So I'm feeling pretty good about my accomplishment and decide to tackel the throttle body swap. My car had the manual TB and attempts to ghetto fab the tranny kickdown cable were not that successful. So I take it off the car swap the TPS over and then realize my auto TB does not have this
sm_photo_missing.jpg

It's a dash pot. Just found that out today. I take the one off the manual TB and attempt to place it on the auto one but the stopper part does not line up with the throttle lever. I decide to call it a day with the car until I can get the dash pot situation figured out. Anybody have one off an auto TB???? The car is still on jack stands until I can put the exhaust back on it. I was hoping to have that done tomorrow so I could test drive it but it doesn't look like that is going to happen.

No I thought self mutilation would be more appropriate, so while trying to push a dent out on my mother in laws truck door, I sliced my thumb open and I just got back from the ER. Some dermabond and one tetanus shot later I'm home. I actually sliced the webbing between my index finger and thumb. Yes it did hurt.

On Christmas eve my mother in law drove over to our house and I helped her unload all the presents. I didn't have a free hand so I used my foot to close the passenger door and ended up caving in part of it. Sooooo while she's visiting family in Ottawa I was going to fix it. I pulled the door panel off to push the dent out and caught my thumb on something in there. Never did see what it was. And the dent is still there.:3d_frown:

No work on the Supra today.

Ouch!!!!!!! Now you can't make a fist for the upper cut. It's OK to just Bitchslap yourself for recent lapses of intelligence.

BTW........apparently Bitchslap is misspelled?

Yeah, I can still make a fist. I cut my left hand and I'm right handed. But I've suffered enough for today so tomorrow I'll just bitchslap myself. It may be the first of many.:biglaugh:
