They look good though. I had some on my 77 celica that my dad gave me to learn to drive with. Engine blew on the way home from the driving test with no warning or knocking just locked up. Had plenty of oil and other fluids. Still to this day don't know why it happened.

wiring up my electric fans this weekend to a replay and thermo switch. then took the car out for a test drive and quickly went into limp home mode. code 12 and 52 or 53, i had the wrong o ring on my cps so i'm suspecting oil inside there. pulled the cps off today and also found a frayed wire for the 02 sensor. So looking like I have some wiring in my future.

Since damn near everyone goes through this thread (Not a lot of traffic in the regional forums) I figured I would post this here. I'm trying to set up a Midwest Toyota Owners Meet for sometime in June. What the plan is is meet up at a certain location (likely a toyota dealership), bullshit around for awhile, eat, then hit up a local race track (if it's in Omaha, it would be MAM..). But as of now, with where most people are coming from Omaha Nebraska is most likely where this is going to go down. Absolutely nothing is set in stone yet, but I do have a facebook page up. If you're interested, post!

Car was on dyno... 350 rwhp @ 3700 rpm 8 psi... Then two problems... 44mm Tial wastegate stuck open and tire went flat... Won't be done until tomorrow morning now....

All that used t4 setup I bought was garbage.... Nothing used ever goes in my engine bay again.

Yea I don't like buying used parts that are vital especially turbo stuff the only used things I'd buy for a turbo is the manifold and exhaust pipe. I'd like to be in the 350whp range but don't want to get a new turbo for the 7M when I plan to build my 2jz. Pretty much want to max out my 7M with BPUs.

I got back today from a 500 mile round trip in the Supra. All interstate, about 70 mph the whole time with the AC on the whole time as well. I got 25.1 MPG. I was impressed. Especially considering it is a 27 year old car and runs almost 3500 rpms on the interstate. I think the original sticker said something like 22 or 23 highway and that was when the national speed limit was 55 as well.

The louvers are held on by 6 hinges that have industrial tape on the back, which you then silicone down. The top two are optional, but i did them just to feel safer. they then have a plastic screw top that goes through the louvers and connects with the hinge. The tape and silicone took about a day to completely dry, and it took about 30 mins to properly line everything for the install. I Bought them off eBay, for i believe $270 or so. The seller was Carid or something, it came from carid through eBay, so its the same company. i thought $270 was abit much for plastic, but i really wanted the uncommon flare, so i got it as my Christmas present.
Really quite simple install, and does not affect view much really. The side window ones will be hard to get a hold of though.

note your windows will get very dirty, and if your like me you won't feel like taking them off to clean, which is not hard really. the grime does not bother me so i wash the window rarely.

Cool. So I assume this isn't a permanent thing and can be undone?

yes, it is not permanent in the slightest. I can take it off for the winter so it won't get snowed on, and the seals on the hinges should last a long time (More than enough) Plus if i get another i can get more hinges and switch them for seasons.

i think my turbo died today? :(
i've had some smoking and a little noise for a while. well today after a nice launch, the whining noise got really loud. i also noticed that the car was down on power. the good thing is, i ordered a 60-1 from albert. time to do work. :)

Well if the turbo is whining, don't run it. Don't want to suck in some metal fragments and chew up your combustion chambers... Interested in seeing how well ALbert's 60-1 performs though :)

the car is parked till the new one gets here. i wasn't sure if the smoking was the valve seals, rings or turbo. hopefully it was the turbo. :)
