sp has a new billet 67 on sale now.i wouldn't go with a small a/r because you might have boost creap issue's.i know you have huge rubber on your widebody, but billet 62mm with a .68 a/r on top of the spool valve=reciepe for disaster

The GT35RHTA is my "dream turbo" :biglaugh:.

Here's the compressor map for a rebuilt, healthy 7M:

IMO, from the looks of it, the 35R is nothing short of ideal, especially for a street car--79% compressor efficiency is some serious shit, and only the biggest ass turbos see numbers that high. It'll theoretically start to run out of breath above the 7M's redline, though the 7M isnt exactly a high RPM breather anyways. The HTA gimmick should surely be able to provide some extra oomph up top though.

That FP HTA GT3586R doesn't look like it has a divided exhaust intake. I thought you needed that for the quick spool valve to work properly?

I noticed that too, but I think you can get it with a divided flange as well.

Any GT35R turbine housing will work with the GT3586R, but FP probably doesn't stock any for the GT35R, so that's one more thing that he'll have to spend money on. By the time it's all said and done it will be a $4000 dollar turbo setup making $800 dollars worth of power.

Thanks guys. I called FP and a divided T4 is available, same cost. I figure that since the HTA3586 is bigger than a GT35r, it may spool around the same (being billet aluminum), and the SP valve should make it spool faster than a standard 35r, but offering the top end of a T67. Hopefully I am right!

Also, I can tune my Apex'i boost controller to limit boost in a chosen gear at a chosen rpm if wheel spin is an issue.

I tried the boost controller thing to limit wheelspin..... failed miserably as soon as it broke for a second it went up in smoke..

I had a 10psi gate on the 3540r and it just want't low enough but due to it being an internal gate any less and it'd blow the valve off the seat and not hold higher boost when on the controller.

I use a 5psi external on the T04z and love it! :)

Here they are. HTA3586r, and the SP valve. Just need a stroked, cammed 2J and I'm set! :biglaugh:

The only divided T4 hot sides to choose from were a .84 or 1.00; I went with the .84. Compressor inducer is 62mm, exducer is 86mm (4mm bigger than a GT35r). I've seen pics of the GT35r compressor wheel and it has 6 main blades. It's interesting that my turbo has 7 main blades and steeper, more aggressive fin angles as well. Forced Performance said it flows more than 75 lb/min. Hopefully it is still efficient at low boost.

I took it apart as if I was handling a Fabergé egg. Those billet fins look rather thin! BTW, this turbo is rated up to 730hp, and some race-prepped Evo's have hit over 700. :aigo:

Also planning to use some extreme-temp antiseize on the valve shaft: http://www.jetlubecanada.com/Nikal.pdf Hopefully that will be better than leaving it bone dry, like SP ships them! This is what Jdub recommended.

wow, that SP valve is an ingenius idea(didnt they use this same concept in the early turbo RX-7s?), and im sure the quality is top notch, but even-so for a flange plate, a butterfly valve, and a actuator man is it expensive.

Talking about the SP valve? I can dyno it with it open, then with it closed. Overlay the 2 graphs, and where they cross is the right time to open it. Should show the spool gained.

Im looking forward to a dyno.

Aparently china is gonna be copying these also b/c a guy on Lstech got one from ebay for like $70 iirc. although itll probably fall apart and go through his turbo.

The whole concept of the QS valve is to allow decent spool with a HUGE AR that will allow the engine to breathe in the upper RPM range, using one on a tight AR like this will make a VERY impressive TIRE Smoke machine ;)
