Actually, depends on the tires. I'm making well over the stock power and the tires I have will NOT break loose unless it's on wet pavement or black ice.
Rear-end also helps. Not that it comes up very often, but a GTE running a 4.10, or 4.30 is going to be spinning a lot easier than say a GTE with a 3.73

I don't have anywhere near the tire you do, my motor is healthy with some good mods - I won't break loose on dry pavement unless I dump the clutch from the middle of the rev range.

I'm not sure how you're going to do that in an auto without a good brake torque. :dunno:

Ok. I checked with the guy again. It seems he had it wrong. But only partly.

He says that a few of the last mkIII Supras had traction control.

They had an extra button next to the gear selector.

He has only seen it once (he imports Supras from Germany and Switzerland) and it was a mkIII registered in october 94 and it was moste likely produced in 1993.

So my car doesn't have TC but it was offered on the last mkIIIs leaving the factory.

Does anyone know of a good aftermarket traction control that wont break the bank?

I saw that the AEM has TC. Does it require any sensors? I assume it does.

It was probably aftermarket, or a dealer-installed option. I don't show any sort of traction control listed up to April 1993 production. The only thing I can think of that he might be thinking of is the ECT buttons beside the shifter, but I list those for all years.

No I don't think so.

The guy has 51 mkIIIs sitting in his shop. He makes a living importing these.

If he says it I belive him. But I'll check with him again....

He says the TC looked original and also the ECU didn't plug into non TC cars.

It also had remote controlled security system. I'll try to find out who bought it. Maybe I can get a picture of it to solve this mystery.

There is no TC in a stock supra.

/debate.

Have you friend with 51 supras take a picture of what he's talking about. If it indeed has some type of TC option on it, then it didn't come from the factory like that and was a dealer option. Jeff has spoken.

yeah and the earth is flat...

Anyway some german dude bought the car and there are no pictures. As I said it looked factory and had a different ECU from Toyota.

I think it ends here - for the moment
