I have a question, I might be doing this pretty soon, but how easy was the wiring? I know how to wire and solder, but is it easy to figure out the wiring from our stock coils to the IS ones?

from what I have read its just a direct swap you just need to extend the wires. did you get your coil packs yet??

someone mentioned something about the mazda protege's wasted spark system. One came in today for some work to get done on it, so I figured I'd snap some pictures of it really quick.

well i did the coil mod today and it worked out fine. i gotta admit that the stock is300 wire look so thin compared to the nkg wires i had with my stock coils. i will eventually get the hks DLI so my ignition setup will be done.

Im going to try to come up with some sort of cover for the COP setup now that I have my coils in. U want one if I can come up with something clean tookwik? Since ur local atleast and did the R&D, i'll give ya one if i can make something clean, if your interested atleast.

Hey guys I'm new here. I've read just about every page in this thread and its a great mod that cleans up the bay really well. Hats off to tookwik for coming up with this. Since my ignition system isn't working. Anyways cuz I'm getting no spark and I'm having to replace the coil pack anyways this mod is wat I'm going with to make my car run again. So I need lexus IS300 coil packs(does any year IS300 work) and the spark plug wires from the IS300 as well?? And then the stock wires that plug into the original coil packs need to be extended to reach the new coil packs from the lexus right?

You need the coils and spark plug wires from the later model IS300s, the VVTI engine. Everything else you are right on.
