ted make sure you cut away the little bit of gasket sticking out above the block surface where the timing cover goes to the block... cant tell if you did so in the pics :D

I come from a land down under
a) Wonder how much grit/dust from the blast cabinet got up inside the vent and how long till the Diff dies?

b) Also have to wonder if you used a solvent based paint on the fan and how long and at what rpm the blades will come off ;)

c) What your guide dog thinks of the paint scheme?

haha you can't get to any parts washer? hmm. that sucks. i'd say ALOT of carb./throttle body cleaner. it dries faster than brake cleaner. and maybe a small wire brush to scrub the ports out good. they do sell like cleaners at auto parts stores. maybe askin one of them what they recommend wouldn't hurt...and maybe some HIGH TEMP paint to make it look all nice =0)

Actually brake clean dries a lot faster than carb cleaner. You can get your manifold sandblasted by a local shop for cheap or you can get a small sandblaster from Harbor Freight Tools for cheap.

i'll show you with the pics :icon_bigg

p913568_1.jpg

started painting the exhaust manifold in good ol' high temp black

p913568_2.jpg

got the old rear struts/springs out and installed the rears. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW SHE SITS!

p913568_3.jpg

after cleaning the inside alittle bit, i installed the lsd. looks NEW!

p913568_4.jpg

haha here's my hippi looking teacher

p913568_5.jpg

this my head work station with the head sitting on stands

p913568_6.jpg

here's me literally installing the seals

p913568_7.jpg

p913568_8.jpg

i used a 9mm deep set 3/8 drive socket with an extension to firmly place in seals in. the socket fit perfectly over the top of it. it also helped with keeping the seals in place when i put the valves in :naughty:

p913568_9.jpg

here's that crazy kat (me) lubing up the valves

p913568_10.jpg

got a some valves permanently installed

p913568_11.jpg

p913568_12.jpg

finally got all the intake valves/springs and whatnot done. that took alittle muscle :aigo:

so the exhaust side is up for tomorrow and possibly putting the head on the block. we'll see how it goes! i'll keep you updated...............with pics of course :icon_bigg

heh...that exhaust manifold is going to flake VERY quickly.... none of the high temp spray paint will stay on the exhaust manifold. it will look pretty for about a day or two and then look like shit ;)
