my block and other rotating assembly parts loaded up in my Probe to take it to the machine shop :icon_bigg

i was alittle sad that the machine shop couldn't get brass freeze plugs for it :nono:
got it all unwrapped for a better pic AND so i can actually work on it haha
i put my lovely Eagle rods on my new pistons...spiro locks SUCK!
painted the stained engine bay gloss black! picture quality sucks, but you get the idea
after some HEAVY DUTY cleaning and dead tired arms from cleaning out EVERY FREAKIN BOLT HOLE, i put a couple coats of Ford Blue high temp paint. I DON'T CARE! I LIKE THE COLOR!
crank is just chillin in the block.....................waiting :icon_bigg
i got the tranny chillin on the bench and other parts off the new motor
so nice new parts that will be added at a later date :love:
and my r154 rebuild kit from DM. we'll see if i actually have time to do that :icon_mad:

do you know what RA they did the block to? ALSO did you make sure to get the timing cover decked with the block? (I think i see it in the wrapped up pic you posted)
Worries me a bit it still looks a little too rough for a MHG seal. Could just be the picture though.

i sent it to United Speed World. that's what F&H recommended me to go. i'm not sure the exact RA it is, but its pretty smooth. the pic doesn't really do it any justice. you'll be able to see in other pictures.

yea the rods and pistons are all facing the same way. i already have the shortblock assembled. what should i do then????? =0(

If you have a shop handy you can get them to mill the cover so it's the same height.....
If the Block and Cover weren't decked at the same time the Cover will be higher and hold the head off the deck causing a leak.
But are they facing the correct way?
i look at the pics i have and looks like the timing cover is alittle below the HG surface.

the hg sits on top of that timing cover as does the head... so they all have to the same height. as IJ said if you do your measurements carefully you should be able to have them mill the plate down to the right size...but it really needs to be exact or youll have a hg sealing problem.
yeah united speedworld is pretty good. they have a nice laser cutting machine there that use to do resurfacing and decking etc... So ill assume its just the picture
And IJ wants to know if they are facing the right way not that they are facing the SAME way
