Is it just me or does it look like your cam seals are installed in this picture and are installed backwards?

erm... yeah... it appears that way. lol

I'm only commenting on this because it appears to have gone un-addressed.

Those seals are in backwards.

I don't know the effect of that, but it would really be a good thing for you to find out what problems that will cause.

do you like the results? and be honest. cause its really gay.............. there are ways to include colors (even gay ones) and make it work. but for the amount of time/money you have in this (which i know is alot) it just dosnt work.

i do actually. the blue is actually darker than what the pictures show.
what are your reasons that you don't think it works?
i saw your build. it's a nice project, but painting everything black and some semi-polished parts is just dull to me. but that's just me

haha yea. i see it now. umm i'm not sure what it would lead to. maybe it wont seal properly. idk. well, if they last long enough for me to get her running, then i will replace them then. :sarcasm:

Fix it before it runs Ted...... :nono:

Indeed.

You don't want to have to clean up the mess for one. There's nothing like having a perfectly clean engine.

Who knows, maybe they'll projectile out of there and dump oil in the timing belt cavern and you'll have oil EVERYWHERE and have to replace your timing belt.

Worst case scenario ;)

The oil pressure sender looks like the stock one off my 91 cressida grande.
Good work on your build, I personally find the blue a bit too bright but its your car so its your taste.
keep up the updates...:icon_bigg

sadly no...

BUT i have alot more put together. i re-did the cam seals and checked the crankshaft seal and both are good. rear main is good as well. i re-did the timing and that worked out great. i have alot more put together now. i'll have to take more pics on a better digital camera cause mine is a piece of shit. i still need to install a few things still. the next main thing i'm doing is installing my walbro pump. i do have a couple questions....

i know how a car works and everything and what it takes to run...not necessarily well, but atleast run. so if all is well and all the coils are working, cps is good and all that jazz. i should be able to throw on my throttle body, connect everything electrically, install the pump and it should start. BUT when it comes to a performance motor and all the accessories i have added and still need to add on, i'm wondering if it would be bad to try and start it that way??? it would be the FIRST start up and i'm supposed to kinda run it hard to seat the rings, but i don't want to run it hard cause it wouldn't be running at its full potential. so how should i go about this? should i just keep installing things that i have? or just do what i need to do just to start it for now just to see i'm doing everything right?

i need input!

thanks!

...trying to stay awake for some Black Friday shopping
it's gonna be fun

...just thought i would add that in there

thanks, t3d

HI, who said you have to run it hard on first startup? theres a lot of debate and many different techniques to running in a motor but basicly the most common way is to get the engine started and look for any leaks set timeing e.t.c then take it on a few long drives till you clock over 1000klms or whatever your desired running in time is, keep the car from revving its guts out and look for hills and make the motor work buy keeping it in taller gears without building too many revs.Just take it easy on the motor....

I'm gonna have to disagree, I couldn't get my rings seated until I started driving it hard. Take out your wastegate spring or anyway to stay out of boost, go out and drive it hard (obviously not bouncing off the limiter everywhere you go but don't be easy on it).

You can start the car with some accessories off, you have to check for leaks and problems first anyways. (So if any accessory you haven't put on has a possibility to leak I'd suggest putting it on).

Good luck with it.

well, i have a whole weekend to put on as much as i can. i just bought a 3 gallon air compressor so i can use some of my air tools at the house =0). so now things can get done alittle faster. i'm going to install everything that i know of and that i can see that would leak and whatnot. i feel alittle better about not having EVERYTHING installed which is good.
so, i'm gonna keep at it this weekend and be sure to take alot of pics and keep you guys updated =0)

thanks for the input!
