so, the gas tank was shit that i saw today =0(
so i guess this weekend i'll be hunting for some tanks in the junkyard to see if any are in decent shape.

i didn't realize fuel cells were soooo expensive, but i'm curious to know how all the things that go into the stock tank would fit/bolt up to the cell. it would pretty much need to be custom made right?

man this sucks! now i gotta wait for the weekend =0(

Ohhhhhh, You're asking if the tank has to be custom made...I thought you were asking about fuel pump senders and whatnot.

You can get a cell that's about the same size of the tank, but you're going to have to do a bit of cutting (specifically to the spare tire well) to get it to fit.

Most of them come with a sender, since they're foam filled, the stock sender won't get even close to working.

Hope that clears that up.

alright i did get the tank re-lined. i forgot to take the pics of it on the inside, but i was so excited, i just installed everything on it and then took the pics

p1225134_2.jpg

then i installed it at like 11 at night with a slow rain. that shit was a huge pain trying to hold it up with my elbow and get the nut for the straps on :aigo:
but i finally got it and i was so happy and had a congratulatory cigarette:biglaugh:

p1225134_3.jpg

i ended up buyin the ebay intake pipe...bad idea:3d_frown:
i test fitted it to see how it would fit....TERRIBLE

thanks to Victor over at F&H Performance, he had exactly what i needed already made. that and a couple of couplers. i just need it get it polished or powdercoated. it's alittle dirty but will be perfect.

p1225146_2.jpg

i ordered some blue silicon radiator hoses which looks nice and fit pretty good

p1225146_3.jpg

this is how the motor sits now...

p1225146_5.jpg

i have to put gas in the tank still. i have the battery all charged up. the afm is on and hooked up.
i ordered some pcv hoses and the intake side of ISCV hose from Champion(should be here mid next week). i'm also waiting on my NA p.s. res. and bracket.
i'm gonna run with the stock pcv setup until its all running and then i'll add a catch can.
i'm probably gonna have pipes custom made due to my intake and the NA p.s. res.

but once i get the gas and the hoses hooked up, i'm gonna try and start it for the first time. don't worry, i'm gonna make a video. hopefully electrically everything works.

ONE QUESTION.
i have the two knock sensors but either the wires for them were cut off the harness or they just weren't there. i got some clips and wires coming, but is that going to affect how it runs without those installed? i'm gonna probably re-wire them in, but i'm just curious if it's gonna affect initial start up at all?

any help on that would be awesome...

thanks and enjoy

I like your remote oil filter kit but does it have any clamps to hold the hose on? and does the hose run under your dump pipe? if so i hope you have it far away so it doesn't get heat affected".Your builds looking great, keep up the pics and progress info.

it's the Transdapt kit that they make for our car. there's no clamps on the hoses. they are pressed in and have threaded tape on them to screw into the actual oil filter mount. i want to relocate it somewhere else but there's not much room at all. i'm gonna get some heat shield cover things for hoses and a turbo blanket for the hot side.

and thanks for the kind words
