I also think Tissmo has a good point about the idea of get it making passes then upgrade. Hell with it making passes might even be able to attract at least a junior sponsor.
:biglaugh:
Here is my point on that---- It cost way more to build once, then to upgrade later with better stuff, then to just go with the good stuff the first time.
If I prep the block for 500 hp, buy a 500 hp turbo, 500hp fuel, 500 hp ecu, 500 hp tranny, then just to turn around and do it all over again for 800 to 1000 hp, it will cost nearly twice as much. Sure we could save money by going small on a turbo to get started. But the diffrence between a 600hp and a 1000 hp turbo is only 500 bucks. I am going to build a 1000hp tranny, a 1000hp block and head, and 1500hp fuel the first time around.
Even if the lesser items where sold in order to upgrade, you would lose money on the sale vrs what it cost when it was purchased new.
The only solution to getting it on the track fast, would be to add some stuff to the stock motor that is in the car now, put a 1000hp tranny behind it with the good fuel system, and run it untill it blows. Then in the meantime, the new motor may be half done. I would need to find a good used turbo that could do 500 hp for this, some injectors, and a maft pro or stinger/megasquirt.
We don't really need a jr sponsor, every one who wants to help is the jr sponsor. I want everyone who contributes to have the say in what goes on with the car, not some outside the community sponsor.
I think it would be fair for everyone involved, to have their vote count based on their level of involvement.
I like the red, maroon, or green color. Anything that is a darker color. But please remember! This car is maroon now. Anyone who has ever done bodywork and painted cars will tell you how much of a pain it is to change colors. Since I will be the one painting the car, it will stay red or maroon unless some help shows up at the door.
