why sleeve the block? The 7m should be stout enough as is.
This is something I would do in the end, with a greater than 1000 hp block. The reason I want to do that is because sleeving allows you to use the same block over and over. By the time you spend the the money preping and filling a block, it is nice to be able to press new liners in and out to rebuild as many times as you want.
IJ- I understand the restrictions on our block, but this is why i wouild use a NEW 1993 or 1992 block. I don't think I need to explain the reason on the late model block, and filling the block will hold the thin walls in place with a sleeve. It has been done before. We would machine the block from the inside, upside down.
BTW powerglide over th if its going to be track only.
Here is the thing about that, and I will look for some answers on this. I can build the tranny myself, but only want to do it once. The pg needs an aftermarket case when you near 8-900 ft lbs. The th400 does not, but no one makes one anyway. The PG needs a 390 to 430 ratio diff to work well, and for the car to be really light. The th400, when using the taller gear we have in th late model diff, will give a bigger mph, and the extra low 1st gear will help with the weight of the car. The pg will work well with the high rpm our motor will make. The th400 will need a special pump in it that can handle rpm's above 7000. Cost will be middle upper 2000's for each for 800 ft lbs. Above that, the pg will cost more because of the case.
Slow - I was going to stick to the IRS untill it no longer will hold anything. We need someone who can airbrush to put a pic of the turbo sucking up a 1jz!!
Weezl - if you want to do a hood, it would remain your property and I would make sure your name was all over it. We can get it to the car somehow. The 1000hp mtor I will use a belt drive wp. the next motor will be electric. I have a good waterpump off another motor already.
Maybe someone can photoshop an idea for the supramania.com decal over the side of a supra???
