Clueless - This is the closest i can get i think for the next 6 months:

norinco_JW15lge2.jpg

Norinco JW 15. Theres a special on at the moment - €300, with a scope & suppressor. 5 round mag.

If i go back to the gun club this weekend with my mate paul, he'll have a 'quiet chat' with the president, who's a personal friend, along with Pete, at the store, and in 6 months, they might be able to get me a full class licence with all the requisite stamps. The only caveat is i'll have to go to the gun club once every other week to fire off about 100 rounds...ohhhh the sacrifice ;)

Lets talk AK47. The prices seem to be nice for a NIB romanian copy, but what about the reliability and cost of ammo? How many limbs will 7.62 x 39 cost me for ~500-800 rounds?

My father seems to be up for the idea of picking one up, as well as a nice 12ga pump.

Talked to the Springfield rep about the XDm and he was pretty impressed with it. Explained that the biggest difference is obviously the larger bull barrel. Said it had great accuracy and reliability, and I believe it.

As far as 7.62, the cheapest now is like 4.50 to 5 bucks for a box of 20. We ran a huge sale at 2.99 for a box of 20 but stopped it early cause sales quotes were met. Kinda gay.

Exactly why I was looking for one. I'm still going over pricing and such to see what a 'good deal' would be for me ;)

I do have a limit, and it happens to be only a few.

Dealers should steadily be getting in the XDm and prices should drop a little. If you can find a big retailer that has them and the price will be lower usually.

Kai, look into the Ruger mini14. They aren't selling for too much, and look like a regular rifle. .223 caliber, and they make up to 40 round mags.

Finally broke down and bought the FNH FS2000 bull pup style rifle.. It's been on my mind for years, and the price has done nothing but go up.. (Damn.)

Anyway, read the manual, took it apart, and cleaned up all the factory oil.. I use CLP Breakfree on on my guns..

Very impressed with the quality of this rifle, but dismayed at some of the plastic part fits at the joints.. Weird that this gun is perfect in many areas, and then has glaring gap mis-alignment in others.. I'm sure it does not matter for how it shoots, but it does look like they took no time to get the molds right when the did the plastic stock. (My Hogue stuff is much better..)

But, the parts that matter, the forged bolt, and plastic hammer and other parts? Perfection and light as can be possible.

I swear it looks like something off star trek, but it is a very modern design, gas piston, dual settings for high or low load ammo, and many other features that impressed me into buying it. (The short over all size for one thing, and that it uses my existing M4 mags.. no problems..)

Now to find out if it will digest the cheap/crap wolf ammo I have quite a bit of, and have replaced with new bulk Federal from WalMart.. of all places.. :)

This run on guns is having an effect.. the gun price went up another 100.00 while I was buying it.. LOL They did not charge me the extra, and I bought the last one they had.. plus another customer offered me 200.00 more than I had just paid total for the rifle.. but it's not worth it.. and I'm not sure they will get many more of these before they are banned actually. (I think it's one of the first things Obama is going to allow Pelosi and Reed to push out of Congress, and they will hide/include it in a bailout bill.. LOL)

I'll get some photos one of these days.. this gun is so easy to tear down for cleaning, it's not even funny after being used to the M4, not a hard gun to clean either, but it does get pretty dirty as the bolt has gas and the piston in there to deal with every time I shoot the rifle...

with regards to 7.62x39mm-

~1000 rounds for about $250 from ammoman.com. I need to pick some up for my SKS.

Welp, as far as Air Rifles go, i decided against the GAMO Viper and instead went to the gun store today, picking up a .177 BSA Comet with a 3-9 x 32 scope, two boxes of .177 ammo (target and venom rounds) and the barrel cleaner for.... €235

Pretty good deal i think. Been setting up the scope and having some target practice fun :D

As far as the full blown rifles go - i'll have to wait til January to get my membership to the club, the good thing though, is that both Pete and Paul are personal friends of the club president and assure me that in 6 months after joining, i'll have the right to go out and buy whatever caliber i like, even 5.7mm AP :D

The only caveat is, like most of you guys, nothing 'full auto' is allowed.

Oh and Pete said if i go to the firing range on Saturday, he's got a Barrett .50 rifle i can fire a few rounds off on, as long as i buy the ammo, i can shoot it all day! WOOHOO!
