Clueless - the article you refer to is correct...newer bullet technology is superior to stuff like the old Black Talon. You can acquire some of the Ranger Talon ammo if you look around. The Speer Gold Dot is also an excellent handgun ammo...the Federal Air Marshals use it as a standard in the .357 Sig's they carry. Personally I use Win Black Talon 200 grain (got a supply long ago) in my 10mm Glock 20 as a defense weapon...I use the Hornady XTP 240 grain in my S&W .44 mag (8" barrel) as a hunting round. The Hornady has proved to be devastating to every animal (including an elk) that I have had the opportunity to harvest.

Dunckel - you're welcome ;)
There's just something hot about a good looking woman with an automatic weapon...LOL.

Lol, my girlfriend walked in when I was watching that. I had the hardest time trying to tell her I didn't care about the girls, and that I was watching it for the guns. She didn't buy it. I am now going to sleep.........on the couch.

Tell your girlfriend to get a life. Theresa sends me porn and says things like "check out the ass on this girl..."

Exactly.

Dunckle..... hand cuff your GF to the couch and tell her "whos the man now?"

...then give her sexy times as a punishment...hehe...

I hear the XTP is excellent in the hunting dept. and I'd figure it'd do just as well on human flesh should the occasion arise. Now I gotta find the Ranger Talon Stuff.....

I just purchased the AK-47 this weekend so I haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet.

Great quote I just ran into:

"How a politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual... as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded over, controlled, supervised, and taken care of." -- Texas State Rep. Suzanna Gratia-Hupp

Btw, I just picked up this little honey last week:

Guy was asking $400 for it, and I ran away with it for $350+tax.

NICE gun and GREAT price Jon! Envious am I. :)

Just don't tell me it was new. How many owners and how many rounds through it?

It was indeed a service weapon Kurt.

Lots of carry, and no use.

Id say less than 300-500 rounds through the thing. The barrell and ramp look prestine!

BTW, you never asnwered me back on that last pm...

random input of the day, I'm thinking a yugo sks for my next gun.. my friend has one and tried a modified ak47 magazine it worked but due to the stock and would be difficult to remove. the solution we were thinking about would be to lightly file the magazine so it wouldnt damage the wood or just go witha aftermarket stock altogether.

whats you guys input on this?

Sweet. I was wondering how that turned out. Have you fired it yet?

Myself, I'm still waiting on the Dept letterhead for the MP40. I actually had a dream about it last night.

Get the tapco stock and mag and be done with it or you're asking for trouble.

Side note - some of the chinese sks machines are fed with a ak sylte mag.

Also, you need to get one of these firing pins before you shoot your new sks:

Last, buy yourself a buffer and make sure it has the correct sear engagement.

Check it all out here:

Enjoy (I know I love mine for what it is)

I have a buddy who bought a K9 and he loves it. He has slightly smaller hands than me, so it didn't feel quite right in my hands. It does seem like the perfect size gun for concealed carry though. My wife didn't get a chance to hold it, but she held a .40 version of it and really liked the feel compared to the "massive" PT92 [she has really small hands].
Can you tell me what the recoil on the K9 is like compared to a Beretta/Taurus model 92, if possible? I imagine a smaller frame can have the tendency to recoil harder, but if the gun is a good fit in her hand, maybe she will have more control over it, and be able to take the recoil easier.

The k9 basically has no recoil LOL.
Its smooth - not sharp recoil if any.
It doesn't shoot like a polymer gun. Its soft and forgiving, with almost "no brainer" aiming. Some times it seems that you just have to point the thing down range and it will hit the target...
Ive never shot the Taurus 92 or Beretta. I have shot the Glock 22 (40S&w), Walther P99QA (40s&w), Taurus Pt1911 (45acp), Walther P22 (.22LR), and the Smith & Wesson 4006 (40s&w).
The only thing "smoother" is the 1911.
The only thing with less recoil is the Walther P22.
