My old 88 n/a hardtop auto, 4.30 lsd, 225/50/16 all seasons, would regularly see upwards of 28-30mpg on highways, about 20 or so in city. Slow as balls though...

My 89 7mgte targa 5 speed, 3.73, 275/40/17 Nittos, would see around 25-30 on the highway, about 17-20 city. 57 trim ct26, Apexi intake, 3" BIC dp and full 3" exhaust...

My 89 1jz (same car as above) sees about 19-22 city and around 25-28 highway... damn tiny turbos spool up too fast at highways speeds.

As for how to get better mileage? Eliminate as much unsprung weight as you can, your car, engine, and wallet will thank you for it. Brakes, hubs, wheels, and tires, GO AS LIGHT AS YOU CAN AFFORD!

Good ole super monitor tells me I get roughly around 23 mpg's. I use to get 16 until i found and repaired a hole in the accordion hose.

interesting.... i'm getting 16 mpg right now. I've noticed a crack along my accordian hose for quite a while now but didn't think it affected the car in any way. I guess i'll go fix it up! That could also explain why my car idles rough and dies once in a while.

The worst i ever got was 10 mpg, and that was the first week i had it. Since then its been hovering around 20, but my next fill up just might be 25.

haha lucky guys. if my mathematics are correct (because i use meters and for gas milage we say litres per 100km's ) i got like 20litres per 100km's city, havent tested on hwy yet, what i calculated was ~12MPG. no matter how i drive it, sporty or granny style, my milage stays like that. its prob bad O2 sensor or any other senson because car sat like 6 years.

its GTE with 4speed auto (dont know diff ratio because it was R154 in past). previous supra had exactly the same numbers with the same driving style.

what should i check first?

I beat mine and I get anywhere between 200 and 220 miles per tank. But I've been running a fuel system cleaner since the car sat so long. But it seems like I get more per tank with every fresh tank of gas

Yeah ill try to run some fuel cleaner as well since oil cleaner fixed my low oil pressure even for cold start it was below. Now pressure is very good. So hope that clean engine will fix my gas mileage.

I know this is off topic but what is considered normal oil pressure for a 7mge? I've never seen mine go much past the second tick mark

The last time i went down to SLIV (portland, Or to Vegas) we were hitting roughly 30-32MPG at almost 75-80+MPH
Mods
Lex's 550's
Apex'i AFC Neo (tuned)
12lbs boost
Tanabe hyper medallion exhaust
AFPR
DM 3' Downpipe
DM intercooler kit
Apex'i power intake

just basic mod but with the tune im pretty sure is why i was able to confirm that we were getting that kinda millage, but ill have to ask one of the other guys for his data log to trully confirm.

i dont have vids of it since there already alot of vids of the same type online. but mind you we wernt going heavy footed, staying in fith most of the way, and having a 3.73 rear probably helped out alot too..
