When I had Lex/550's, stock CT26, and stock I/C & piping: 19mpg hwy

With Maft-pro, 550's, wideband, HX35 turbo, FMIC & 2.5" I/C piping, 3" turbo back, 4" intake: 27mpg hwy

I drive from Philly to DC a good amount in mine and last time I checked. I would do 80-90 most the way and get 28mpg. only using a little more than a 1/4tank.

turbo 7m upgrades>(full exhaust, ic pipes, filter, turbo inlet pipe, Profec B, safcII, lm-1)

it got right around 30 mpg on the highway @ 14.7:1 afr

oh, around town it got anywhere from in the low twenties to the single digits. (i drive like a moron)

my n/a supra got 23 mpg on the highway and mid teens around town

i was surprised by the power the n/a supra made though... it still had power and was pulling pretty good over 135mph but i didn't feel like going any faster as the tires weren't rated for it (they felt funny as well at that speed)

I just changed my plugs/wires and installed a new fan clutch. Hope this helps with my gas mileage. But probably not since i'm gunning it more, now that I can actually hear my engine instead of the fan.

I guess I have to read up on O2 sensors to see if mine needs to be replaced.

I have a bpu supra, 3 inch exhaust and intake. All my other mods are mostly handling related.

I've gotten 21 mpg on shell 93 gas, and that's with A LOT of spirited driving.

If I drove like a grandma, I could probably manage 23-24, but what's the fun in that? :naughty:

23 city/hwy average. I've gotten as high as 27 mpg on long road trips. Stock, no mods.

damn, thats good. Mine only gets ~19 average, 23-24 on the highway. Its probably my heavy ass 18s though (only wheels & suspesnion, rest stock).

Those things only need to be replaced if they are bad. The O2 sensor being the main one that could help HWY/cruise fuel mileage. The knock sensor will not help fuel mileage, just prevent Det. If the fan clutch was always driving the fan I suppose that would hurt fuel mileage some.

The biggest thing is the driver mod, and self control. I would make sure that the fuel injector cut off is working correctly on engine run down. And make sure the air filter is new/clean. Having an open exhaust and intake system helps mileage as long as you are not getting on it constantly.

+1

The biggest fuel economy factor is your foot and where you're shifting at (how hard you're working the engine)

I get around 28hwy and 24-25 city and thats the most i have had it with a bad o2 sensor. It is amusing how my turbo motor is doing incredibly good compare to 17-20 in my NA motor.

Stock 7m. intake, exhaust. 17" wheels.

I since then added a raptor racing ddp. Haven't kept up with the milage since.

fairly fresh gte rebuild w/ 5spd.

i dont know whats wrong with my car...no fault codes, even with grandma style driving and coasting A LOT, staying completely out of the boost i can only manage 18 max with 20% city driving. ive done new plugs, wires, royal purple fluids, tires at 40psi, i figure the 3" exhaust helps some...AND driving with cruise on.

i dont get it, i guessed it should hit 20 atleast...but with a little boosting just to cut around traffic and to show off when pulling into work sometimes and i get like 14-15.

so do i have problems with sensors? wouldnt i be throwing faults, or is this one of those "not necessarily" type things. whats really going on, this is really starting to annoy me.

im going on a good 4hr trip tomorrow night and ill prob squeeze out that 20 or more mpg on all highway but we'll see. hopefully ill find something serious by midnight tomorrow.

i havnt checked timing, no light...im guessing its one of those things that wont throw a code. i want to slap a new o2 on it just for good measure...but i want a wideband too, will a wideband's output work to tell the ecm what to do or will i need a 2nd bung to have both sensors?

used to average 17.8 with spirited driving, highwall pulls with my mods and the 4.30 rear end, just did a lil 50mile high way cruise, again top it up before and then again after and average 20.5 miles with the 3.91 rear end now, just highway cruisng at about 80. Time for some new plugs, and intercooler hardpipes.

Depends how you drive it. I can get 28 mpg on the freeway while my friend on the other hand can only manage 22 mpg.

fixed my o2 sensor wiring and got 25 on the trip back and thats with a passenger, a little luggage and boosting a lot to pass around people on those annoying 2 lane country roads, i was in awe when i punched the number.

hoping to get a little more with a new o2 sensor, and a decent safc tune...if i hit 28 ill really love this car, my integra wouldnt even get that

lets bring this thread back from the grave.

Got another supra, and just went on a 150mile rd trip.
Mods
7mgte, new hg arp studs, bic ddp, 3" exhaust all the way back no cats or resonators, r154, 3.73, 275/30/19's
No boosting at all, and just cruising on the highway 75-85mph the whole after the numbers were punched in, 27.8.

Coming back did a nother refill and recalculation, pressed it maybe 3-4 times quick burst and cruising the rest of the way, got 25.3.

The week before was to me "everybody wanted to race me week" and the whole week drove it like a stole it, 15lbs stock turbo everywhere i went and got 14.9 lol.

But this car will give you good gas mileage. ITs all about how you drive it and the rear end ratio you have for the speed your going on the highway.

100% city, worst case IMHO. WINTER: Work is 3 miles away, just getting to OP temps as i pull into the office. 14-15mpg's. I usually take a longer way home to get everything warmed up.
SUMMER: same mpg's. AC is on if the cars on though. Highway. 25+mpg's.
Driving like i stole it, 11-12mpg's.

I'm in the same boat here. Work is 5 miles away and it just reaches OP temps when I get home. AC on full blast. Got around 16 - 18mpg before I installed the AC. Now its probably getting 14-15. I'm guessing if I were to drive 50 miles a day on the highway, I would get a better MPG.

When people ask me what car I drive, I tell them a Supra. If they're smart enough to know what a Supra is, they ask me what gas mileage I get. I then ask them, "What gas mileage?"
