And duane you are correct you will get paid more...but also most shops will pay for you to take classes on cnc set up and basic program!! Shops get huge tax breaks for sending people to "school" (aka 3 day crash course)...
My point is...paying for school is retarded in the machining industry...just go work and get the education and advance by takeing courses the company pays for!
