the clutch is on its way and you should see it in a couple days...

sweet thanks man!

avi was working on another cage over the weekend so we missed out :nono: but today there will be some progress. The past couple of nights we have been replacing seals and cleaning up the engine to get it looking good again. Today, we are going to finish up the engine besides putting the clutch on and once the clutch is here it will get dropped in. Also, we will start welding in the cage. Pics will be up tonight with the progress...stay tuned.

Tally so far is $1492.xx since we just sold our interior stuff. We still need to factor in a few items like paint and some piping for the exhaust and roll cage.

oh and for some grassroots stickers i think i got them with my magazine subscription.

ok so we made a little progress today....its tough when you can only work for a few hours before it gets dark. Anyway, the main hoop is tacked and bottom plates have been made but avi is not happy with the welds since the undercoating has contaminated them a bit. Engine has the harness all plugged in and is good to go minus the clutch....here are some pics of the progress.....

this is going to be great when you're done!

If you're going to paint it for concours purposes i'd suggest a quick job of flat (or gloss?) black paint from the top of the doors and up. that'll get rid of what i see that is faded and give it a pretty sleek look IMO. either that or a tan paint that matches the rim color, which I like. might be weird up top though i dunno.

I was just thinking of that faded bit and how you could avoid even the slightest bother of paint matching (not that it's a huge deal for a racecar) if you just did a quick sand, mask and respray.

anyway, great job!!

thanks man! yeah, i bought a paint gun a few days ago and we have a compressor to use. A big thing in the honda community is cheap paint jobs so, I was following this roller paint job thread on a honda website where you use rustoleum 1 quart can thinned with mineral spirits and then either roll it on or spray it on. Spraying it is a lot quicker and doesn't require as much sanding in between coats. We already started sanding and we polished the lips on two wheel so far. So for exterior we just need to polish the other two wheel and finish sanding and prep work.

Yesterday the motor went in and the intercooler setup is pretty much done. Avi got the front of the cage mocked up and made a rear strut bar that is welded in place. Today there will be more sanding and cage work to be done. We are definitely going to try and start the car tonight. I have lots of pics but don't have time right now to post them. Tonight there will be a plethora of pics....stayed tuned.

WOW the car is coming along together nicey.I love how you did the cage.It looks bad ass. Also how hard was it to install your ic pipeing cause I see that you have a 90degree bend going back the othere way.I was going to buy a fmic off a local kid but I didnt cause that looked like a bitch.so was it hard?

routing the lower intercooler piping was a pain and we're not to happy with the fact that it has to run along the bottom of the car. If we had a FFIM then it would have been easier to route and looked a lot cleaner. The kit we used was universal and the amount of cutting was pretty minimal. We only cut maybe 3 or 4 pipes to get the correct angles and lengths but we did use the factory hose coming out of the turbo because we didn't have anything that fit in there.

well here is some more update stuff.....we leave tomorrow night for the competition so i know we are cutting it close but it is coming together nicely.

Today we got stuck trouble shooting why the car wouldn't start and why it would running poorly finally when it did start. Turned out to be bad grounds in both cases. The first was that the ecu wasn't grounded and then the ground for the MAF was bad so once those were fixed it ran beautifully. This pretty much took us all day but in between I painted the car and here are some pics. We also relocated the oil cooler....
