Thanks Crisp, unfortunately that motor spun a couple of bearing 3 months ago. The new motor should produce even better horsepower numbers. I've ungraded almost everything on the new motor to include cams. we'll see what it does in a couple of weeks.

Just finished dyno tuning.

400 rwhp @ 14 psi. Ordering a stiffer wastegate spring and will be back w/ 25-28 psi.

That's really good! What type of fuel and what were your afr's? Looks a little on the lean side; but, I could be looking at the wrong trace.

And did I read the torque right...369?

^^^ Had a guy in my area (IndyMKIII) ask me if I wanted to drop by his Tech class and do a pull on the dyno tonight. Running 93 pump gas at between 17~18psi range we did a couple pulls. The pull in the video is showing an out-of-focus 427.14 and the image of the chart is just over 420.80hp at 368.22tq. Only change since my summer numbers at 394hp were the cam pulley adjustments I made yesterday to remove a little overlap and shift power a bit higher in rpm band. Torque was pretty much the same on the summer pull, so just shifted HP up and increased about 33hp overall. I retarded both intake and exhaust... -2* on intake and -1* on exhaust, everything else is essentially unchanged.

We did a first pull at about 1psi less and it was about 20hp lower at 408hp. That's about right. 20hp/1psi or so.

I think that's decent street numbers for a 120k mile plus original stock bottom end and a few piggy-back components from HKS. I'm running 550cc and have some headroom, and the cam pulleys are still just being diddled with, so optimum is an unknown yet. I don't want to get too greedy, either, since everything works well and I'm having fun when I drive the car and this is what it puts down to the road anytime I drive it around.:biglaugh:

BTW, since the cam adjustments, I didn't really do any tuning since yesterday, and you can see the "dip" in the curve that would likely work it's way out with some fiddling. I also have it running really rich to be safe... upper 10's to very low 11's on the two pulls.;)

Hey crisp

what piggy backs are you using?

What turbo?

and last but not least are you on stock cams and did you do any head work ?

1) Almost every HKS component... and early one's to boot. (PFC F-con, EVC, VPC, GCC, IPM, SBC, EARLY smaller IC kit complete, etc, etc...)
2) T04z (Barely puffing... but since bottom is stock, I usually only run 15~17psi range on street at high end... runs good at 12psi as well!:biglaugh:)
3) IJ head. (Everything.;))

NOTE: Head is WAAAY overbuilt for what I am doing with it at the moment... but it works great and purrs like a kitten! (Valves, porting, 280 cams, etc...)

Obviously not on the list, just documented here in-case 8 other 7m-gte folk get removed? ...lol.

Thanks Habenero, it's been a really great setup for me and I can't speak highly enough to the reliability of the stock 7m. I am going to tear it down sometime this summer and re-ring, but otherwise leave it be. I've carried around drop-in 550's and the matching VPC chip forever, but like you said, it's making darn good power at only 11 (11.4psi to be exact) lbs of boost and is plenty quick while still being trustworthy. I hop in this car and drive 12+hrs without a second-thought, or fire it up and do 4hrs of track-time without concern. I don't want to risk that for an extra 40-50hp...

Where can I go to resize pics. Completely stock 1j, with emanage blue and boost controller. Still tuning ran fat rich 10.0 on wide band. Roller coaster ride on the chart.
