Glad to hear its going ok! Im doing a rebuild similar to yours very soon (over this winter). Im gona use this post for some pointers!
haha. i looked on page 2 of gen. discussions, and i was like, WTF is my old thread doing!? it's ALIVE!... ? haha.
yeah, i suppose i could update it now...
engine still runs strong, stock turbo still going with chipped impeller blades, shaft play, and blown oil seals. i'm waiting for my MDCmotorsports BB 57mm turbo to arive, i've gone maftpro using speed/density + boost control, bought a Ron R. shortrunner FFIM, and accufab 75mm throttlebody, getting an I/C and custom piping done within the next few weeks.
i've got an extensive list of things awaiting installation. (including some of the aforementioned)
i finally got my mkiv TT rims mounted with 275/40/r17 falken azenis rt-615's out back, and 255/40's in the front.
there's more, but i forget

So you had the head decked, but it doesn't look like the block was. Is that right?
And which Cometic did you use? They list standard, normal, and MLS, and of course they are all MLS.

woops. i don't mean to resurrect this thread from the depths of the forums or anything, but i don't like questions going unanswered.
nick- i did have the head lapped. (and 1mm OS valves installed) i was wicked tight on cash, so i had no money to have the block done, nor did i have the time, as my dad was going to have the car towed if i didn't get it done soon! it sat for about 8 months on jackstands in the driveway.
i wish i had my current job back then so i could have done it the right way, but it's holding fine, and this motor will be pulled back out in a matter of time anyway... so i suppose it's just gotta hold that long.
i just used the Cometic standard bore MLS. i got it from Luis at paradise racing. it came overnight! they're really good to do business with.

for now, i'm running an MDC 60 trim BB ct-26 upgrade, and will run that til it dies. (stock exhaust manifold)
after i dyno on the stock intake system with that turbo so i can get some "bolt on" numbers for jon to advertise with.
here's a quick list off the top of my head of the parts i have waiting to go in. they're collecting dust in my bedroom, and it's driving me nuts!
Ron R. shortrunner FFIM with no ISC or CSI.
accufab 75mm throttlebody
(coming in the mail- 935motorsports 24x12x3 intercooler and HKS knockoff BOV, and an innovate LC-1 wideband from dr. jonez) all paid for.
and i'm in on that group buy from HPF for the 264/264 cams. i want to see how much i can push this CT-26. hopefully to the threshold of 450rwhp. haha. we'll see!
after this turbo dies, if it ever does, i'll be going T4. of course, by that time, i'll have my other 7M built. (going forged internals, balanced, blueprinted, the whole deal) thinking of somewhere in the 650-700+ realm, while retaining daily drivability on low boost.

The "built motor" plans sound a lot like mine Shaeff... It's a good plan. I can't wait to finish my car.
