It's always nice to see some progress in your thread :)
Where did you get that alarm? ebay? link?

Re. the BOV pipe, why don't you get that coupler replaced with welds and put that BOV pipe after the strut tower so that you keep it away from the heat from the turbo?

http://cgi.ebay.com/VIPER-5901-LC3-...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item1c0ffa1d3c :) Recommend this seller.. they shipped the item 2-3 hours after I bought it, got here really quick.

So basically use the this layout? ..and weld the adapter to where the coupler is now.. and move the coupler to the right side of the bov?

Yes, but I would skip the coupler and just weld it. If you do this you can wrap the entire pipe to protect the air going in to the motor from heat.

Have you been able to test the alarm anything? Like the communication between the sender and alarm?

Don't really wanna skip the coupler, as the piece will be too long.. and then might not fit as well onto the other pipe which is connected to the radiator..

----

The engine is pretty much back together.. got a few things remaining to take from the old engine. Got a week holiday now so hopefully I'll get it in then.. never know, always something more to do. The downpipe is on just to see how well it fitted. ;)

About time to update this thread! :)

25th february 2010

Have received polished spark plug cover, HKS SSQV, Blitz boost gauge and a package with black leather for gear lever, hand brake and mid console. The exhaust and test pipe is at foreign customs in oslo, hopefully it will arrive before the weekend. Was over at Toyota Follo and ordered a new pressureplate, which I've now got and mounted. The gearbox is mostly mounted, missing the wing brackets which I'll have to buy.

7th march 2010

Finally got the engine jack and the engine mounted. I was even so unpatient I didn't wait until help arrived.. so I put the engine in my self. Worked great with having a rope around the gearbox through under the car, and then I pulled it to get the engine at the right angle.

Pretty much connected up the wiring harness, aswell as oil cooler, fuel lines etc.. Also found out that it's a JDM engine, as it's got a JDM throttle body, no charcoal canister and some various other parts. The BOV and IC pipes are sent to get welded. Back part of the exhaust is mounted, the muffler/tip is going to be cutted so that it is a bit closer to the bumper.

Not too much new... but slowly making progres. Most of the stuff is connected up.. looking around to find the parts I'm missing(driveshaft, gearbox wing brackets, ignitor etc). I've temporarily fixed the gearbox to chasis, and made a bracket for the throttle wire, which saved a lot of time.

About time with another update.. Got the gearbox wing brackets, HAC sensor etc.. still missing ignitor and driveshaft.. hopefully the ignitor will arrive shortly as it's the only thing needed to start up the engine.. Driveshaft will hopefully be sent from the US tomorrow or on tuesday. The battery is in, and put on the igniton to check that the oil pressure was good. There was a short circuit on the battery.. found out that it was from the headlights.. connected two side lights which makes a frame around the headlight, and one of the sockets was crushed, all fixed now. Other then that I've put on the temporarily summer rims. I recon some will notice the angle on the BOV.. the guy that welded managed to miss completely on what we agreed on...the BOV is supposed to be laying on left side, but he managed to weld it so it points straight up. The hood doesn't close right down.. so will be welded again shortly.

Stay tuned! Comments are very appreciated!

Hey Scotty, i was looking at the intercooler piping that was attached to the GTE, did you buy that or did it come with it?

Just curious, because it looks to be the same exact kit i have.

Thats the one i ordered, then adapted it to my spearco replica. Anyways, was just curious.

Also, what did you use to close off the stock bov location? Did you have it welded closed or what? I tried to look at it in your pictures but the vac line filter was in the way.

Yep I think that's the same piping.. I bought it of CX racing on ebay... prices usually vary there, think I paid a little under $200.

So, it's about time to update this thread!

11th July

A few weeks after having the new engine running it got BHG, as the core heater hose went bad, so the engine overheated. The top was machined, and then new stock HG with the ARP studs.. Also got a new pillar pod, lotek 2 insted of 3, so now I can keep stock grab handle, looks much better.

25th July

Got the turbo back from overhauling. Looks like new :) Also done a knock sensor rewire, but still got error, so guess it's the sensor(s), just my luck.

---------- ---------- ----------

7th August

I've had the car running 110% with no problems since the 25th of July, new record! Been using it as a diaily driver,. No oil, water or vacuum leaks! Now that the turbo has been overhauled, it's hitting fuel cut on about 0,7-0,8 bar. WIll be saving up for 550cc and walbro 255. Already bought a lexus afm.

Other then that I felt like doing some shopping.. so bought a Bee*R Rev Limiter swell as Line-Lock.

Next will be to buy a bigger radiator and dual 12" electric fans.

Took a picture of it at work. Done some cleaning and restoring. Used a "tornado" to renew the leather seats, worked perfectly! It sends out a liquid with pulsating air pressure, cleaning and restoring leather. Also changed both inner side door panels as the old ones were cut to fit a speaker(by previous owner). Updated the stereo a little, so bought a Sony XAV-W1 2-din player, and removed a whole lot of old wiring mess.

17th August

Tok some time to clean out more. Found a really old Pioneer 60w amplifier under the drivers seat. The other antenna(got two on the car if you haven't noticed) goes to.. nothing. Removed a whole lot of old messy cables. Other then that I felt like doing a short shift mod, as it was really loose when it was in gear. Removed the black "shoulder", made some threads. Fille the TRD knob with chemical metal, drilled and made threads in that. Now it's perfect to shift :)

I've received the Bee*R limiter for a few days ago. Very fun toy, but try to keep it turned off most of the time while driving normally, to not get tempted. Still got line-lock on it's way. I've also ordered a CXracing 3" rad with dual 12" fans and alu shroud, aswell as Hayden fan controller.

Thanks :) Bought the TRD shift knob on ebay. The rims are König Monsoon (18"), they are however only temporary. They're way to narrow(225 tires), and wrong offset(ET25?). Going to most likely buy ADR M-classic 18x8.5 ET25 and 18x9.5 ET35 when I've saved up enough money.

Hey Scotty I was reading your post about the knock sensor Did you see was code you were getting? and was it 52 because I'm getting the same thing and someone told me to ground out the outer wire on the knock sensor and it should go away.
