Thanks guys! Ya, this was not overly planned and I was lucky to have the money in the bank at the right time when a deal came along.

MORE PICS!

So I started pulling the car apart today. Removed all the hardpipes, AFM, filter, coil packs and a few other things. I only had an hour and these were the parts that had to come off due to being sold.

Over the weekend I want to get the hood and front bumper off and start disconnecting things to pull the motor. Before that happens though I need to perform a compression test so I have a hope in selling this ARP and MHG motor. I'm excited to get this engine out of there and start cleaning every possible thing in sight. :)

So many steps between here and completion. Not enough time or space to do it how I want.

This has been a long time coming. I have been putting up with a slow car for too many years now. This has always been the plan. It just happened to all come as a package deal. Worked out good for me. If I had a week off straight I bet I could get it all done. Since I don't it will take all winter and I hope it's ready for spring. Thanks for looking in guys. I hope this thread gets constant updates and will be entertaining from now on.

So the motor is about ready to come out. It will be out of the car today. Yesterday I removed the driveshaft, differential, rad, and disconnected everything in sight. All that's left is the oil cooler lines, wiring harness and motor mounts...I think. I've never pulled a 7M from a Mk3 chassis before so I may be forgetting something.

I checked my rear subframe since I have the diff out for the first time. NO CRACKS! All looks to be in good shape.

More pics to be added later today. Hopefully with it out of the car.

How does the AC Core look Jamie?

Looks not too bad actually at a glance but I haven't removed it yet. I plan to pull the entire AC system from the engine bay. There was a leak in the system somewhere so the AC hasn't worked since I got the car. Should be a small weight savings from the front of the car and it will clean up the bay a fair bit too.

I still don't know if I will need to relocate my battery and fuse box with this FFIM. I guess time will tell.

Good to see you got it out man, lucky you got it before the weather turned into what it did. If you ever need a hand I'm a little far out but I could be up there on weekends :)

Lol @ you in the engine bay pic. Everybody has to have at least one, you look like this btw ---> :bigthumb: lol

If it weren't for Steve's help, this wouldn't have gotten done. Now the dis assembly can continue and I can wash the bay before the weather gets too cold. During the winter months I can slowly piece it together in my spare time and have it complete for spring.

Good job Jamie. That old rad looks in pretty rough shape. Did you order a new one from George?

Will definitely be getting one from George. Fairly certain it will be an aluminum Koyo. That rad is now a conversation piece on my wall. It's surprising that the car even idled without overheating.

Did homework for 5 hours today and got sick of it so I went to the garage for a few hours. Was able to get the old engine on a stand and get the wiring harness off. I also tried to pick up my tools a bit because it was getting stupid out there.

My plan is to clean up the wiring harness with new loom and then maybe wire up the Maft-Pro. I can't wait to start putting new parts on instead of cleaning the old shit.

I really need to get this new engine in the car so I have a bit more room in the garage. I was doing fine until now but the small garage is starting to get to me.

This is the disaster that I can't stand. I haven't been able to see my "bench" for a few weeks now. I need to sell all these spare parts to help make some room.

Got a new thermostat in and replaced the cut up front cover with my original one. Just a few more things to look over and I think it will be ready to drop in.
