Nice work on the polishing! What color are the centers getting powdercoated?

Centers are being done roughly the same as what they were before but with a tiny bit more metallic. No bass boat finish on these wheels. lol. I think silver is timeless and I know it looked good on the wheels before. Now the finish will be perfect and shinier than before. I will be a happy camper.

I worked on the car on Sunday. Put in a new coolant hose, thermostat, seat belt guides, door lock bezels, rad cap and drained/refilled with fresh coolant. The car got a little hot a few weeks ago when I drove rather quickly across the 407 on a 30 degree day. I am paranoid so I figured I would do the easy stuff first and see if it reoccurs. Trust me, I checked all the BHG stuff and it got a clean bill of health.

The new thermostat looks weird...

My stack of tires. 4 of them go on the wheels I am refinishing, the top 2 are for the Grand Prix, and the bottom 2 were destroyed by burnouts. I should get rid of the garbage ones but they are fun to look at. lol

Some random pics of the car and it's habitat. :) I am slowly cleaning up my garage and collecting all my tools. Need to build myself some shelving and a proper bench.

This thread is long overdue for an update.

I tracked the car at a local road course over the weekend. It was proven that I need a better cooling system. However, my freshly installed Doward BBK performed flawlessly. It could use some race pads after a bunch of hot laps but for general HPDE it was great.

Time to order a new rad, intercooler and oil cooler as well as a full array of gauges to monitor the vitals.

looking good jamie! the car felt great on the track man. That thing has a ton of grip for street tires! the coilovers and bushings has totally transformed how that car felt when you just had the tokicos and lowering springs...let alone stock! nice work man, it's coming along nicely.

don't worry about buying all that stuff all at once. I think even just a good rad alone would be the best thing you could do right now, and solve all your problems. it would be a fantastic investment. Don't forget that coolant runs through that CT-26 too, and you'r basically in boost over 4000rpm for 3/4 of the time you are lapping!

The car feels like a great well-rounded package now. keep up the good work.

Before spring time rolls around. I am fighting the urge to go out and work on it since I am in school and working at the same time right now. I will do it when I get some more free time. As long as it is ready for next season I will be happy.

Wow man. Looks great. Everything goes together with time. I always say that I should have left my car on the road instead of tearing it down, but I would have never done the things I plan to do otherwise, so it's not so bad in that aspect.

Nice work thus far. :bigthumb:
