Well, just got back. No improvement in 1/4 times. Ran a 13.30@103mph. I actually went a 10th slower tonight than the last time I ran. Oh well, I need to recalibrate my butt dyno. I'm gonna hit the sack now, I'm done. Chat with ya'll later.

BTW, those bastards at the track scared the shit out of me last night. After my first run I was on the return road to pick up my slip. Woman at the ticket booth told me that I had a "MASSIVE" oil leak, and needed to fix it before I made another pass. I immediatly looked at my oil pressure guauge and had good pressure. I parked the car and checked the oil and it was full. I let it idle for a good 5 minutes to see if I had any leaks and not a single drop.

So I line up again, do a nice standing burnout, and pull up to stage. The staging guy runs up to my car and tells me to back it up and get it out cause I have a massive oil leak. I back up, and he checks the ground and sees absolutely nothing. I told him that I checked it in the parking lot and didn't see a single drop anywhere. Then he tells me that I can run "this time", but I need to fix my leak.

I'm wondering to myself if I had a fucking leak then he shouldn't let me (or anybody) run at all. That's because I don't have a leak. So why was he giving me a hard time. Then next time I make a pass I do a small rolling burnout and stage. He doesn't tell me anything. I dunno. I hate to think of it this way, but I think he doesn't like imports. He's always telling the import drivers something, but rarely the domestic guys.

The only people allowed to roll through the water box was cars with slicks. Street tires and drag radials had to drive around the water box. Plenty of domestic guys with drag radials would drive around the water box. Then they's back up into the box and do a quick spin, pull up a little, and do their standing burnout. I tried doing the same thing and that damn guy came running to my car to tell me not to do that cause I'm on street radials. I tell him I have drag radials and he says, "The look like street tires to me so don't use the water box!" I told him that the Mustang in front of me had drag radials on his car and you let him do it. He ignores me and gestures me to pull up. Then he looked at me funny when I start to warm my tires up. I swear they discourage us (imports) from coming.

Oh, and when I was teching in he asked me to pop off my center caps to check to see if I had all my lug nuts on the wheels. Then asked me if they were properly torqued to spec. In the staging lanes I saw a Mustang with one lug nut missing on each side of his rear wheels. He didn't even have center caps. Hmm, he must have missed that one I guess.

Thanks for listening to my rant.

Met a guy with a SC300 2j NA-t running a holset with an AEM stand alone running 10psi. He couldn't hook off the line cause of street tires, but he was running 109mph trap speeds. He has a conservative tune on it right now and plans on extracting more power out of it later. He's running a w58 right now so he's not in a hurry to max out his horsepower, or run drag radials. I don't blame him. Work all done by himself, AEM tuned by Noribilt.

I'm running a Garrett T4 60 trim at 12psi and only running 104mph. He's doing 109mph with a holset and 2J at 10psi. He has lots more room to grow. I was impressed. Nice guy too.

On a side note, I thought low 13's was too slow to be competetive. I was wrong. There are lots of cars out there running around the same times as I was. Plenty of slower ones too. There was a 2011 5.0 Stang that I lined up against. I beat him at the 60ft, 330ft, 1/8th, 1000ft, and the 1/4. I ran a 13.38@103.59 to his 13.62@106.16. He won though cause I was sleeping at the line looking at my RPM's to see where I was going to launch at. A win is a win, right?

There was a hand full of late model GTO's running high 12's to low 14's.
Lot's of Mustangs everywhere from the 10's to 15's. Lots of them running high 13's to low 14's.
Vette's running high 9's to low 12's. Those where out of my league.

You get the idea. It was alot of fun.

I havent been to the track here in SA yet...my tbird has been under construction since i moved here. Im from Austin area I normally run at Little River. Got my turbo 90 supra about 6 weeks ago and looking forward to running it its stock atm got 10k on the rebuild tho. Anyways im a domestic muscle lover since i was a baby but hey i do love any rwd/awd car no matter where its from so always been a fan of the supra or what i call the "japanese muscle car". That bein said the track i normally run they always crack jokes on the imports. The announcer says stuff like "put those two cars together you almost got one motor" when two ricers line up ect ect.
Thats one of many. So its not only here that imports get harrassed. Bein a big block lover i normally laugh my head off but it does suck when you get harrassed as much as u did during ur runs. Always gonna be some hatin on imports but i do think the supras shuld be excluded :)

So you're going to run your stock Supra to get a baseline? Let us know when you're planning to head out. I wouldn't mind hanging out. Are you planning on modding your Supra or gonna keep it stock?

Ya just gonna run it once i get a tune up done and fix a small oil leak to see what they are capable of stock. Ya i have some big plans for it actually. I have a 72 429bb tbird thats getting some finishing touches on it then its going on the market. Gonna shoot for 6-7 grand off it. Ill have to break off my lil bro a grand hes redoing the interior and body work for me so thatll leave me with a good 5-6 for the supra to start. Once i get ahold of the funds ima make a build post to get somes advice on parts ect ect. I def dont wanna go more than 450 horses on it but i think 350-400 is ideal cuz its just gonne be a daily driver so no need to go over board. But yeah as soon as i do a tune up and fix this small leak im heading out with my lil bro and his girl. Hes got a nasty gt stang but i doubt hell run it but his girl has a stock gt vert n shes been runnin her mouth so ima see if the stock mkIII can shut her down. I had a 99 vert gt auto years ago and hers is a 2000 gt vert auto so i kno what they can do i think itll be a fun match up tho lol. Ill def hit u guys up and see if u wanna roll with

Be sure to let us know. I'd like to witness you car makes its maiden voyage down the strip. Possibly line up with her Mustang.
What year mustang does your brother have? What's all done to it? And why wouldn't he race it at the dragstrip?

Hes got a 96 gt. He just put a transplant motor in it while he builds his old one. He snapped a rear sway bar and needs rear tires they are about to pop so he wont run it. No idea what hes got done to the car atm to be honest. I just know it moves. I did beat him from a 42 roll in my old 04 mach 1 but not by much and that was like 3 years ago thats the last time i raced his car but my mach was runnin like low 12's at the time and he pretty much hung. Neways ya ill def let u kno but we r plannin on goin mid july cuz gotta get the supra fully checked out before i run it.

Little river? Lots of those cowboys have turbo trucks. Do you know a guy with a cressida that runs up there?

Rufus, what's next for you? How you gonna go faster? I wish I knew you were gonna run. I would have liked to have gone. Pm me next time. I'm not on here much any more.

Well, this last Midnight Madness was a last minute thing. I didn't know about it until Friday evening, and the event was Saturday night. I posted that I was going, but being so last minute I didn't expect anybody to come out.
As far as going faster I'm thinking of buying my friends 2step/rev limiter. He's going automatic and I don't think he's going to need it. That'll net me some boost off launch, and get me going much quicker off the line. That's where I need the most improvement. I need to start playing with this MAP ECU, and up the boost to get more horsepower out of the car. I'm just a little intimidated with all the tuning points this damn thing has. It's going to be a tedious job trying to fine tune this thing. But I'll try to get that 2step going first. If I could cut at least a 1.7 60ft time I could be running 12.90's. Then horsepower my way to quicker ET's from there. We'll see how it goes.

How's the 2J swap coming along. A little birdie told me you're just about done. Just need to add fluids and turn that key.

Which shop, what's all being done to it?

Welp, my car started dripping what appeared to be oil a few days ago. I reached down and swiped it with my finger. I was too clean to be oil, but had the consistancy of it. I thought I was a half quart low, but I really can't tell with my shitty broken dipstick. This morning I left for work and as soon as I turned the car the PS pump was whining. It turned out to be power steering fluid. I topped it off and headed for work. It's a slow leak, and I'll have to find out where it's coming from. I'm hoping it's not the rack. Well see. I'm going to give my car an oil change hopefully this weekend and I'll see where the PS fluid leak is coming from while I'm under there.
I do have a valve cover leak at the back of the head though. Nothing major, but I'll get around to it all soon enough.
