If it makes me a better welder then hell yeah!

Didn't work for me.
Neither did having a father that was a certified welder who did welding in nuclear power plants LoL !
Some people have it, I don't.......

Obviously I don't. But it's functional. I stitch welded it. Not a good idea for flux cored wire, but it's not a structual piece. Just an intake pipe.

Not yet. I'm going to be running the factory AFM until I get it figured out. Plus I need my laptop back to plug it in and see what the MAP ECU is doing. I just might borrow my neighbors, wire it to the test connections, and see what it's doing. Maybe this weekend. It runs ok on the stock AFM, but running rich down low.

Ok, I get my clutch slave cylinder in today. I just put it in. I tried to bleed it by myself with a hose on the bleeder screw/other end in a jar of brake fluid method. I had to keep monitoring the fluid level and topping it off. I closed the bleeder screw, and pumped the shit out of it hoping any remaining air in the lines would work their way up to the top. Started the car and it still wouldn't go into gear. It grinds trying to get it in reverse. I shut off the car, put it in 1st, start it and it start hopping foward. Classic symptoms of a clutch disc installed backwards. I'm starting to fear the worst and might be looking into pulling the trans down to see if that's what I did.

I'm not going to get a chance to correctly bleed the system until after mother's day "weekend". I know my wife wouldn't be thrilled if I asked her to help me with my car on her "weekend", so that's out of the question. Maybe sometime next week.

BTW, anybody going to watch Pacquiao VS Mosely fight anywhere? That should be a good fight.

I saw your map ecu thread. Did you figure it out?

Oh yeah, I did get an RPM signal after all. I'm still going to run the stock AFM for the meantime. When everything is running good then I'll try to make the switch to the MAP ECU.

Wow, I wouldn't have expected that from Mosely. He did comment that he tried his best, and found the worlds best pound for pound fighter. I thought if any fighter would give him trouble it would have been Mosely. But I figured he just wanted a payday myself.

Ok, I removed the clutch fork and all six bolts from the PP to FW. I pulled back the PP to look at the clutch dics. It is NOT in backwards. The PP straps look fine. They aren't busted. I thought I bled the clutch slave cylinder enough. I'm gonna ask in the tech section as well.

I'm looking at doing my bottom end, boring/stroking it out to 2.8l (1j). Would that be better than going 1.5j?
Pretty much the same thing that manictech has on their site:
*Custom Crower Pro billet rods
*Cp big dog pistons
*Big dog Wrist Pins
*Cp rings nitrided
*Cp Gas ports
*Cp ultra gas port grooves 360deg
*Arp main studs
*Acl race series bearings
*Worked crank 77.8mm stroke
*Balance rotating assembly
*Your block, Cleaned, R-n-R oil galley plugs and brushed, Decked, Bored and honed with torque plate
*Aligned bore and honed with billet main caps
*Jet washed
*Final assembley blue printed

That with a fully built head, with 264/272 cams, standalone + whole new fuel system + 72-74mm.

you guys think it would be worth it ?
I mean, theres lots of 1.5jz mk3's out there, but how many people have actually done work on 1j ?
I got to wait a whole year till I get back, and be able to do it. Hopefully some things will be cheaper by than, lol.

Let me know if you think this is a stupid idea, lol
