So, I finally got the head the rest of the way off...

Mind you, the car ran perfectly getting 21-22 mpg before I dove into the head gasket, the only symptom being that there was air in the coolant.

Same here, little leak on #6 that would pressurized the coolant system. But ran fine, with no miss.

Yea, somehow, on mine, the copper rings around the coolant passages on the exhaust side were all blown

HG job is doin good, after looking at the new head gasket I have, I decided to ditch it and buy another because it doesnt have the copper reinforcements around the waterjackets. I'm taking the head to Clays either today or Wednesday (payday) to get it shaved. I'm considering doing some rewiring around the intake manifold and I'm gonna delete the EGR just for simplicity's sake, since the N/A really doesnt need help with EGT's. Also, I'm going to install a Flush Tee up by the heater control valve, once I get the head torqued down, I'm gonna flush the coolant chambers out.

I think I"m going bolt the exhaust back up temporarily and find a spot to weld an O2 bung. I'm going to put the wideband on and monitor things. I'm going to hook up the boost controller up as well. I'm still waiting to order my clutch disc because Miriam wants me to put it on this rewards credit card. It should be coming in the mail here pretty soon. She wants to earn points on the purchase. No biggie. It give me time to do the other things I need to do.

Ok, I ordered an ACT six puck sprung disc. Just the clutch disc. I'm going to run it with the stock FW and PP. I'll see if that holds any better. Now I have to play the waiting game until it gets here.

Woke up quick, at about noon
just thought that i had to be in the garage soon
i gotta get coffee before the day begins
before my wife starts bitching about it again....


Man I tried to get in the garage this morning and she's already "car blocking" talking about we have somewhere to be at 1pm. I got a little bit done, but I really need some help stablilizing the trans on the floor jack while trying to get the bolts threaded onto it. I called my friend, but he's a little busy today as well. Everything is ready to go so I can get this car back on the road. Oh yeah, I got my six puck ACT disc in Friday. I've just been busy with the family since then. I don't want to jump on the car really soon, cause Mrs. Car Blocker will have something smart to say about that. "Oh I see you can rush into the garage so fast for that damn car, but I can't get you to put up a simple coat rack in the utilitly room!" Something along the lines of that. And yes, there's a reason I haven't put two screws in the wall to hang up that damn coat rack so don't ask.

Likewise. It's kinda funny how we were in O'Reilly's at the exact same time next to each other getting stuff. I heard him ask you what year Supra, and when you said '88 I thought cool... he's got a MKIII like me. It's even funnier that you live a stones throw from where I am. Just in the next neighborhood.
